Oh, also! Have you seen Ingobernable? It's a little old, but worth watching! The first lady of Mexico is framed for her husband's (the president!) murder and goes on the run I don't usually like action-y/suspense shows, but this one is really well done and while on the run, the first lady spends time with people from different classes, so you get to hear how different people speak I could not understand the people from the working class neighborhood at all Totally different word usage Fascinating! I relate on the Narcos part Would love to watch it because of the great actors, but just can't handle violence well in showsbrbrI'll probably go with practicing through documentaries because those can be pasued at any point Comment from : @Rayowag |

Hi Emi! I love your videos and how spontaneous and curious you are! I am an English teacher (it's not my mother tongue) and a lover of language learning I started learning Spanish during lockdown and both the lockdown and learning Spanish have been excuses for binge watching I've watched most of those you mention and I tend to agree with you! I highly recommend La victima numero 8 and The Mess You Leave Behind Also: Vis a Vis (with Nairobi from Money Heist) and on a much lighter note: Valeria And, believe it or not but I actually watched La Reina del Sur (I started from the second season and I like it much more than the first) - the main character is Teresa "La Mexicana"you may find your Mexican experience there ;) She is so tough! It's actually hilarously naive and improbable but stillAnyway, keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to your new videos :) Comment from : @ivanabosic6893 |

Much love Comment from : @belladickens6947 |

It’s not a Mexican show necessarily, but Bolivar is one of my favourite Spanish shows I watch that for immersion all the time Comment from : @namae8 |

Bless you human for the Mexican show recs! I've been trying beef up my Spanish TV but most of the recommendations I see are for shows set in Spain I'm team learning Mexican Spanish On Casa de Papel- Nairobi is Queen and I love Tokyo for the chaotic energy she brings Irl, she is a hard no but she makes for a fun viewing experience haha Comment from : @meganbenmack9249 |
I was luckily able to find Yo Soy Betty La Fea on the Telemundo app (I’m in the US), but I haven’t committed to it yet because I’m still working on getting through other shows like La Casa de las Flores and Quién Mató a Sara Other than that, sometimes I have the reality court show Caso Cerrado playing in the background just to passively listen I’ve also added Spanish to my language section on TikTok so that I can see more Spanish content on my For you page since I watch videos on that app constantly Comment from : @weequahic10 |
Another one to check out, from Colombia: Siempre Bruja I've watched the first couple episodes and it's pretty entertaining and the Spanish doesn't seem too hard so far One thing I'm wondering: What's your process for watching these, and how much of the actual dialog do you understand? Do you watch with Spanish subtitles? Do you pause or rewind until you understand a line of dialog, or do you just watch straight through for the most part? Comment from : @boxingcompass |
A mí me encanta Gran Hotel, sí puedes encontrarlo, yo lo recomendaría! Comment from : @anghriofach |
TOKYO IS AN AS*HOLE There I said itbrbrIk you just have started money heist,,, but oh god,, the no of people who die because of Tokyo Id rather kill Tokyo🔫brAnd by people I mean People who are dear to audiences I don't mean to give spoilers but Two heist members die because of her 😭😭 Comment from : @sohampandirkar |
Cool list! You mentioned a few shows I still haven’t gotten around to yetbrbrI know you want to focus in on Mexican Spanish but I would encourage you to not ignore other accents The Spanish speak a bit faster yes, but not insanely faster, it’s more about recognizing how the words are pronounced when they’re spoken It’s the same with South American Spanish (especially Argentina) and Caribbean Spanish (true hard mode😅) While learning, I met and heard stories about people who only focused on Colombian or Mexican Spanish because it sounded more neutral and easier to understand who’ve regretted ignoring the other variants because they can’t understand anyone from another Spanish speaking country outside of a very basic conversation Comment from : @WhatsGoodEnglish |
Maybe you would like to check "La hija del Mariachi" (from Colombia) But it's too long so watching the songs from it on YouTune it's a better idea xD :D Comment from : @IntelligentAtheism |
