Thanks for putting this on I spotted lots of fake "silver" dollars on Amazon in particular Amazon does not make it easy to report these On Ebay, you can easily click the button: REPORT this item and choose why you report it There is a counterfeit option which Ebay acts on swiftly I own heaps of silver coins and find it stressful having these fakes out there , who can you trust these days? If you are going to buy gold coins and I have for 40 years here are my requirementsbrbr1 I buy directly from the US mintbr2 I only buy slabbed coinsbr3 You must have some basic knowledge of identifying counterfeit coins PCGS has some classes you can take Maybe NGC does toobr4 Don't trust anyonebrbrI remember when counterfeits flooded the US in the 70's and that led to the grading services These grading services need an extra layer of protection now Comment from : @peterholman6071 |

Guy was selling a Ngc 2016 w for $1100 on a local site today Since it was well under spot I looked into it It was fake after compared it with the one on the Ngc site Crazy thing is I looked on eBay to see what they are selling for and the last one sold for like $1450 So I decided to look that one up and it was an obvious fake too I feel sorry for whoever bought it This seller is still selling and has 100 positive feedback And right now he is selling a fake 1889 cc Morgan I've reported him but I don't think eBay ever follows up, I've reported others in the past doesn't seem to do anything I really hate dishonest people like this and they are killing this hobby I love Comment from : @sob1994 |

Just as a side note Amazon themselves are not selling this coin The coin is listed by a third party seller on Amazon Also, Amazon works differently than most other online marketplaces There are never supposed to be multiple listings for the same items Therefore, if the product has ever been listed before, you're expected to list yours under the same ASIN (basically ID number) This reuses all the information/pictures/etc from the previous listings Long story short, the third party that's selling it may or may not have even taken the picture In fact, if you click on the "Available from these sellers" link, the image changes to a picture in a PCGS label, that appears to be the picture the current seller has for their listing That NGC label is just a picture of a generic 2014-W Eagle that was probably put up by the first person who sold a 2014-W Eagle on AmazonbrbrAmazon doesn't have great tools for listing unique products like coins Everything they have for sellers is optimized for listing a bunch of the exact same thing Comment from : @Gimsor |

Thanks for pointing this out Numi I wouldn't have even though to buy gold or silver from Amazon! But Im glad that I do the same as you with graded coins from eBay I always check the registry and sometimes you can get a completely different coin in the picture to the one on eBay Even different grades etc!
