Lol There's some nice safes shown here Ive got a 2000# Diebold monstrosity from the 1880s Its kinda the greatest thing I hate to own because its incredibly hard to move It'll probably stay with the house if I move, there's no way my buddies will ever help move it again and there's not enough beer on earth to talk them into it Its beautiful though! I have no idea how secure it is, but I'm never bothered worrying about it

You still need to hide these safes behind a false wall, convert a room to a hidden room, etc Once a criminal breaking in sees this he will come back with others and they will hold u hostage until you open it

First I would say that American Security BFX and BF II safes are excellent But the Drylight fire protection liquid in the walls is not high density cement nor cement at all It does set up like cement I've researched their site and they make no significant claims that the Drylight is a burglary protection I believe it would add to it but how significant I've never been able to find out because it is not cement, it's for fire protection

Just a piece of advise Never buy a Liberty Safe They have a master code to enter anyone's safe All you need to do is call Liberty Safes and tell them the serial number of the Liberty Safe and they will give you a master code to open it It's for those people that had forgotten their safe code and criminals use that to their advantage, by just calling Liberty Safes and tell them you dont remember your code and they will just give the criminal the master code to open itbrbrI keep all my gold and silver in a mid size fireproof safe that is in a 5 ton fireproof safe So if anyone tried to steal it they would need a bobcat to lift the safe onto a flatbed truck or a tow truck in order to move it There's no way in hell they can crack a 5 ton 14 digit combo fireproof safe

I worked in field sales and one of my customers showed me his collection of what looked like hundreds of safes stored in a back warehouse, all ages, mfgs, types and sizes It was an OMG moment His hobby was safe cracking mechanical combination locks, a “manipulator” He never said, however I suspect he kept his valuables in one or two of the safes OK bad guys, guess which one??? Ha ha!!!

Don't be afraid to buy a USED bank or jewelers safe Shiny paint costs money Anything in the last 30-40 years is still good and will often save you a lot of money Weight is your friend, 1000lbs is the minimum, but safes weighing more than 2000lbs may be difficult to have moved and need solid floor to place on TL15 is a minimum, TL30 is even better, a TRTL30 x 6 would be even better, and a TRTL60 x 6 would be the king daddy Always buy a safe bigger than you think you'll need

However, I am surprised that there was no mention of the high humidity levels in most safes The 'fireproof' coating of many of them (maybe all of them?) are holding high humidity material In fact, if you read the owner's manual on most safes, the manufacturer will specifically mention not to store watches, jewelry, silver, electronics, or any valuable that can be damage by humidity, directly in those safes So if you make a follow-up video, we'd love to hear about that and learn if we can really store silver in there without the fear of ruining it! another thing to think about if you are putting it with cement wall floor ect very likely won't be any fuel near by to burn so the temps would be lower just because of that alone
