Ok, other's have already pointed out the math errors so no big deal However, the big deal I see is that you are not adding the 21 interest back in at any given time In theory this system will work in the long run but certainly not as quick simply because of ongoing interest on the remaining balance as well as the 21 on new charges the following month One thing is for sure, this beats the heck out of paying minimum each month and you did a great job making that clear

My son had a balance of $10,000 on his credit card and we lent him $3,000 to help pay it down As soon as he made the payment, they lowered his limit to $7,000 Is this a common practice? She's essentially stating that she's paying the $400 payment every month and not touching the $400 if she couldn't pay it for the beginning it doesn't mean that she could leave that $400 in there just because she's having it direct deposited into it credit card

It's inaccurate to suggest that the full $400 of interest would be eliminated in the first month using this method The residual interest wasn't captured, therefore the timeframe to pay off the balance would be longer

Because if her income is 3k, that makes it sound like she gets 1 check a month for that amount and that’s it (which I know isn’t the situation) So how would that work putting that money into the account 2x a month instead of one lump sum? To those watching, do not get discouraged if it doesn't happen quite as quickly as it is shown here The overall concept is correct, in that, this will bring down your balance However, it won't happen as quickly when interest is figured back into the equationbrbrAs a side note, it would be critical that you not accumulate any more debt as you go through this process You will need to stay disciplined for an extended period of time and live within your means Any accumulation of debt, during this time of trying to pay off your credit card balance, will result in "one step forward, two steps back" scenario
