i find it very interesting that the word robot is both derived from a word meaning "forced labor" and was made for the first example of the robot "kill all humans" revolution, so that name has always been linked with the idea of them not liking being used as new age slaves

Tik-Tok is a better example of a robot in the Oz cannon, Book 3: "Ozma of Oz" (1907), he's called a mechanical man there He did appear in Disney's "Return to Oz"

On RUR it's a great story and I even saw it performed by a theater group that specialized in translated plays Ironically what got them the most press was a reverse translation doing the Klingon Christmas Carol entirely in Klingon RUR's robots were closer to the organic replicants of Blade Runner in case anyone is interested And it was also the first example of the robot "kill all humans" revolution
