The Aluminum pan may in conjunction with the coin in can generate a small current, and that may lead to coin damage! Change out the aluminum pan for, glass or ceramic or limit the time in the solution…

vinegar is NOT a chemical that ruins coins !! you can soak a coin in vinegar for a MONTH and nothing bad happens to the coin !! the coin SHINES after the oxidation is harmlessly removed

Don't use fingernail remover it isn't pure acetone and it will damage your coin and not get it cleaner than this❤

I would say a lot of the dirt and grime on a circulated coin are related to human touch Would you say that warm water and Dawn would work removing the grease? Also, you gently could use an old soft toothbrush to clean it after having it submerge a couple of minutes

Cleaning a coin will get it rejected by a Professional coin grader And, if you sell the cleaned coin to an individual, and they send it off for grading, it will be rejectedbrbrDO NOT CLEAN YOUR COINS IF YOU INTEND TO SELL THEM!!!

Search a product called Evolve I worked on aircraft engine parts for Linde and we used acetone to remove wax TO remove water spots and staining to engine parts safe without scratching, we use a product called Evolve Look it up I tried a moden nickel silver mixed metal coin from the 1950s and it removed toning and other marks :) hope this info helps all 😊

I've soaked in Windex for 12 hours, no longer or they start to oxidize Clean with a soft toothbrush I've had great results BUT, leaving them too long WILL permanently discolor/damage them It won't fix EVERYTHING but for light "dirt" removal it is VERY effective and makes them shiney !

Be more careful rubbing coins even when using plain waterbrYou could disturb corrosion or other material contaminating the surface, causing small pieces to come off If these come in contact with the coin itself, they can potentially scratch the coin despite your best efforts
