Many years ago I worked in manufacturing with a former US Navy SEAL who had significant Vietnam experience He was always on edge, yet never had any threats to worry about It really messed with his psyche So, one day I noticed a help wanted ad for a company that did "explosive fabrication" making sheet steel plate into tank parts and such brThe process they employed was similar to this video They would clear an area with a bulldozer, set a negative metal form on the flat, place very thick steel (or whatever metal) plate over it, cover with explosives, mound earth over it, and ignite Produced the same result on a huge scale It was perfect for formed metal parts that could not have weldsbrHe applied for, got the job, loved it, and lived happily ever after as far as I know Comment from : @snarky_user |

So when they weld sheets of metal together for construction projects do they use a much more powerful explosive? I know they use a greater quantity Why does it weld in the latter, but with the coin, the metal plate only deforms without any welding taking place Comment from : @slowburntm3584 |
|
What's interesting is that US dimes, quarters and half dollars are made from three layers (a center core of pure copper, with the outer layers being 25 nickel, 75 copper) Before the blanks are cut out, the sheets are "explosively bonded" togetherbrbrSo that should be the next test-see if you can bond three layers with the same technique used here Comment from : @almostfm |

You should use currency from outside GB That way any governing authority will be outside the jurisdiction For example the Secret Service can't get at you in England if you damage US coinsbr The US Secret Service is the "money police" in the US If you are counterfeiting in the US, it's not the FBI that comes after you, it's the Secret Service Comment from : @erictaylor5462 |
