What helps us out is we are underwater when we buy and so many times even when we sell if you need to sell for an emergency or a bill most times you lose money it really is hard to regulate and mostly cash If they want capital gains they would have to pay for loses also

I own roughly 50k worth of gold that I purchased over the course of 5 years If I sell it for $ (to put on my house to pay off my mortgage), how can I put the money in my bank without paying taxes AGAIN? I paid sales tax on the gold when I purchased it, with money that was already taxed from my paycheck Now I have to pay tax again if I sell it too??
