For my job and side hustle I'm a teacher during the school day and I referee basketball games a couple times a week Gives me an extra 600-1000 bucks a month I like it because I choose my schedule and it's fun It's annoying if I have to ref a game in a ghetto location but it comes with the territory

I'm 40 and a single mom In order to take care of my son and make income, I learned a new skills such as how to make candles and digital products online I sell my handmade candles, body scrubs, soaps on Etsy and digital spreadsheet temples, invitations, seasonal pdf I also sell clothes on Poshmark, Offer up I do need to make more money and go back to a 9-5 job again for job security because the sales on small business can be unpredictable sometimes

I buy and sell mostly non running classic cars to supplement my retirement I have done this all my life but got serious about it four years ago at age 68 The extra money has been a life saver The economy has faltered the last year but hopefully will rebound soon I have earned $3,000 to $6,000 per year profit doing these cars I focus primarily on old air cooled Volkswagen Bugs and Karmann Ghias I also collect older MGs

Not everyone can do real estate It requires alot of money to purchase a property I just don’t make enough income to do it I hear professionals like teachers and nurses complain about the size of raises they receive etc in 30 years at my job I’ve never received a raise unless minimum wage gets raised by the government My job doesn’t allow me to put money aside Going out to a restaurant once or twice maybe is a year is a treat for me

The etf SCHD is basically an index fund of strong companies that pay out dividends It only has an expense ratio of 006 and has performed well since it came about 10 or so years ago I highly recommend people consider adding it to their portfolio With enough time, you can use those dividends later in life to largely live off of without touching the principle
