"Path of least resistance" ugh current will flow through ALL available paths back to the source Even through motors though it may be negligible due to resistance If current flows with L1 open that must mean there is a path to L2 for the CCH to still be operating If L1 closes, the original path remains and a new path is also availablebrbrWhen L1 is connected via the 24v signal, the crankcase heater must still be going There is still a potential difference between L1 and L2 with the contactor closed and the CCH on The crankcase heater is a resistor so very little current will flow through and the heat of it or the compressor heat from actually running will open the CHS pretty quickly thereby shutting it off making it look like it turns off around the same time L1 closes It'll operate whether the contactor is open or shut unless there is some logic control sending a signal back to the thermostat or another switch in series The logic switch looks like it deals with high and low pressure controls only but there must be a way to shut off the CCH when the AC is completely off The L1 open or close is irrelevant as there is still a potential difference from L1 to L2 such that it will flow Comment from : @etherealrose2139 |

currently in my 2nd year of an apprentice program in a local college near me This whole year is electrical and it was a bit confusing for me to read diagrams like this because my teacher never really goes too in depth with things and im more of a hands on learner , but this has made it sooooo much simpler Glad my year one teacher that im still in touch with recommended your videos! :) Been outside on my own AC unit just getting a better visual for them and its pretty simple now Thanks alot!
