Dave is right about these groups being process oriented, but his take that being process-oriented means there is only one way to do something is such a reflection of his worldview that I laughed out loud As an engineer, there are many ways to build a building…you want wood frame, poured concrete, mud brick…the process orientation is more about long term planning than a single way to do things

My Dad was an engineer He made a good wage, nothing crazy However, he did exactly what they talk about, living below means He bought a house in California in 1969 which my Mom still lives in today He put as much as he could into his 401k, put money into savings bonds, and an IRA He always paid 100 cash for his cars and always paid off credit cards in full brbrIf you do that, after 30 years you will have a paid off home, paid off cars and a nice nest egg

He is so correct I work for a utility company from the age of 25 I am now 53 I have 900,000 in my 401(k) and my pension buyout will be about 800,000 when I retire I paid my house off that’s worth about 750 This is just from a blue collar job I know there’s some people who tell you not to invest in your 401(k) I believe I’ve always been at 20 and the money grows quickly I will retire when I’m 55 with 30 years of service

Not sure if this was accounted for the study, but teachers are overwhelmingly female and as far as I can tell likely to be married So was dual income accounted for the their presence in the top 5?brAlso, they get summers off and can retire relatively early so the additional employment opportunities are there Not to mention you can feasibly become a teacher without going into debt and can start working early in adulthood
