wrong , credit cards greatly increase the sales volume that in turn lower overall prices due to economy of scales thus offsets the tiny price inflation hidden by merchants More sales means more production, which means more competition meaning lower prices

These companies have strong moat Also bank provision of credit card is lucrative as the interest rates on the credit is around 20 so the net interest margin on “the credit loan” is quite high boosting the income of the banks providing credit cards The financing may be this expensive for the client if not paid in time They may also charge other fees to the clients

I've no objection to the credit card system per se, it accelerates the circulation of money in the economy and has the same effect as a mass injection of funds However, everyone who gets access to the system for processing rights greedily charges excessive fees for their piddling effort Really needs a strong and dynamic regulator to save capitalism from itself

I've had credit cards since before I was old enough to have my own account My dad give both me and my brother cards issued through his business when we were 16 After three decades I've spent maybe $200 in foreign exchange fees, but have made thousands in cash back without spending a dime in interest because I pay the balance off every two weeks, including transactions that haven't posted yet It's not hard if you have a sliver of discipline
