The fact that a video like this even has to exist is absolutely toxic and exemplifies everything wrong with higher education Papers shouldn't be a currency, and they shouldn't be any random fart of a thought with no point or purpose just to flood humanity's knowledgebase with garbagebrbrA paper should be the result of years of work, pursuing something completely novel and useful A PhD candidate should be able to graduate with a single paper, that's how impactful they should be And there should definitely not be 5-10 papers squeezed out of a single project Einstein's paper on relativity is a worth-while read 9999 of papers that I've seen come out of universities in the past 20 years are just a total waste of time

Some points that can be used in other types of essays/papersbr1 Create the outline and get the big picture done (do research first, know your order of information, complete first draft and resist temptation to edit as you go, etc)br2 Do introduction later (tricky for other types of essays and papers but might help)

Writing papers still sucks Most of us will not be doing papers in our careers I will say it's rewarding when you write a decent paper, but in the end, it's like playing a video game and getting an achievement, in the end, it means nothing and a complete waste of time

I wrote my Master‘s thesis in a week, 96 pages All I had were the books I hadn’t really read until that point I was the ultimate procrastinator back at university, because I knew I could pull it off anyway Which is really a curse to be honest I‘m a quick learner and able to combine information, condense it and reflect on a multitude of aspects of that information effectively Just a natural gift So while the methodical process that’s shown here makes sense, I can say people are just different So it will work for probably the majority of people, but don’t be frustrated if this way isn’t your way We human beings are much too complex to being given standardized instructions There’s not only one way of doing things
