Great video overall, but you should employ some stronger Typography techniques Your font choice, the yellow, thin cursive, on a bright background is no bueno Legibility is minimal at best Just wanting to throw some constructive thoughts This is also the first video of yours I have ever seen So I am not sure what your typography has looked in the past, just basing it off this video here

Such a good video and I can agree on almost all points! the only one i still need to implement is 9 but I already have some ideas about others, sometimes it's easier to come up with stories you can document about others than it is for yourself, maybe thats a perspective thing Anyways great video!

I'm not a great filmmaker so take this with a grain of salt lol, but another one you can add is studying art outside of youtube Learn how Chloe Zhao's experience as a bartender may have helped her with directing the characters in Nomadland, learn what drove Robert Frank to give photography a shot and what he looked for in his photographs, watch old movies from the 1960s like Easy Rider and look into some of the people who made the film in a totally not creepy way, study painters/sketch artists/etc People's videos look the same because they all get their inspiration from the same places So new people should start looking for inspo in different places if they want to create something new

This really spoke to me There are so many videos out there that I’ve watched with “words of wisdom” that ultimately ended up not really being that I think it was number 7 that was my favorite I was just thinking about it this morning while watching yet another video of “spectacular cinematic footage” Yes, every frame looked magnificent but it was all flat because there was no contrast to the shots Nothing stood out and, although it was all great, it was also all boring It takes decades to know and understand this, as obvious as it sounds Anyway, your video imparts true words of wisdom and I really enjoyed it

Also Resolve is not that good for VFX atp 😭 It's definitely getting there, but After Effects just has more plugins and tools that make it a lot easier since it's been popular for longer DR is sooo limited when you want to do some creative unusual VFX and you just have to figure it out from scratch, or you just can't do it as well/ at all and I've just been getting exhausted with it Even Magic Mask is so annoying to use compared to Rotoscope The plugins are getting a LOT better though and I feel like it can catch up to After Effects in like 3-5 years if we get more people that care about VFX to create more plugins etc for it As of now I feel like it's only the best in coloring but that probably won't even matter to a lot of people with all these LUTs now a days lol

1 should be watch BETTER youtube not watch less youtube A lot of people I see in field that I'm in literally just watch, Gawx (not that there's anything wrong with him but literally everyone is trying to copy him), camera tech vids, basic advice vids, and a lot of people who know how to hold a camera but don't know how to make actual creative videos (post cards, how to make your life cinematic vids) There's soooo many great films and creatives on youtube, a lot that make content better than some movies I've seen

As someone who started in ski movies I can assure you it’s a great adventure and the memories will last me a lifetime, unlike the money that didn’t allow us to do that as out only job So you missed out in a few ways, but also skipped a ton of hardship and years of being financially insecure

My channel is all about other people, trail and ultra runners from all walks of life and you hit the nail on that one, over a dozen documentaries and its been a slow crawl to 5k subscribers But pointing the camera the other way has been one of lifes best adventuresbrbrAnd you put a huge smile on my face when you said shoot less slow motion, i have steered clear, always trying to think how can a story of endurance and raw landscapes be told better through 24fps and it has without a doubt improved my approach to film-making no end The only time I would argue for slow motion is wildlife identification, such as a bird in flightbrbrFor resolve, I edit in Kdenlive but I am a huge FOSS supporter, it is also coming with resolve support this year so that edits can be exported and put in to resolvebrbrAppreciate the video and the channel after recently coming across from Reddit
