The 5 rule is wrong if you spend that money you’re eating your first investment earnings Your principle will stay the same and you have no growth Compounding interest in your favour is the way to go I think higher than 5 can be achieved in the market as well One just needs to look around and learn brbrI may be coming into a large sum of cash from an accident claim I like the idea of getting healthier being the top priority and letting the money sit for a while in a place that will earn a small percent of interest that is easily accessible until I figure out future moves brbrI don’t really want to buy property yet because I am worried there will be a housing collapse soon so I would rather wait and possibly see about moving to another country brbrI know family is going to come to me but my plan is to tell them that that money has been put away to help me for the rest of my life brbrPay of my debts And try to pursue a career in real estate although perhaps becoming a financial planner would be another route to take brbrI plan on continuing to learn how to invest brbrIf you come into money except for living healthier and maybe the odd vacation don’t change anything about your lifestyle until you upgrade your income Focus more on how to make that money make you more money and go from there
