the pound sterling really isn't the oldest currency they keep using the name which was more convenient than to come up with a new name for money but apart from that everything changed so it's just not the same currency and therefore not the oldest you can't change every coin, name of the coins, value of the coins, go from silver to fiat and from frankish counting to decimal and still claim it's the same currency "the same currency" would mean you can hopp in a time machine and take your money back in time and still pay with it to some degree, which is something you just can't do with the pound sterling Comment from : @swunt10 |
