So you wire $25K to buy something that you haven't seen, and its the bank's fault? If I were spending that much money, I'd insist that they do a video call with me and do a live walk-around of the car You can also ask them to send you a specific pic that isn't on the web site And even at that I would probably want to go in person to pick it up and hand over a check

Bank wires should have the same protections as other types of electronic fund transfers As of now, wires are exempt from many consumer protection laws Many don't know that

A good solution would be to force an escrow account for transactionsbrbrThis would require paperwork and fees, but will significantly reduce scams brbrUnfortunately this will only make the bad guy to look for other way to exploit the system

CHASE NYC gave someone in Florida a big chunk of my money even after I advised that it wasn't me requesting these transfers/withdrawals but the bank still gave it away It took me over 4 weeks of arguing every day with dam customer service agents all located in India If I didn't file a police report and if I wasn't determined CHASE would have washed their hands off of this loss and I would have lost my money When I tried to call the Corporate office here in NYC some nasty employee hung up on me I'M CALLING CHASE OUT!!

I don’t understand how Americans can fall for scams so easily, given that the country is a first-world nation with abundant resources and access to technology since the 1990s With smartphones being widely available to most citizens, more so than in many other countries, it’s surprising that scams still find their way into so many lives Does this highlight the importance of education and common sense? I’ve noticed that some of the young people I work with can't even tell the difference between a legitimate website and a fake one, just by looking at the domain name They still put their personal info and get phished 🥱
