My wife and I moved for my work and got a 1 year lease on an apartment to give us time to find a house and get some more savings and I find it interesting that so many people living in apartments have brand new cars and trucks I see BMWs, Mercedes, and even some of the 70-80k band new trucks I guarantee these same people are complaining about how they're living paycheck to paycheck and how it's "impossible" to buy a house now

In my case, my car broke completely (2012 chevy impala) in 2023 I was in pharmacy school and working I did not have money for a down payment I could afford 350 for car payment I found a Toyota Yaris without down payment for 334/month on Carvana I pay 50000 for car payment and insurance a month This was a blessing and a saving grace I didn’t care about the jokes about my small car I still call it my baby sport car

You're so right When my brother and I were little, and my country's economy was a shitshow, my parents had the savings to buy a piece of land in a small town 20 minutes away from the city's center or an imported car My dad chose the car, bought it against my moms wishes Now, 20 years later, my brother and I are my mother's only hope to ever own a house and my dad's whole retirement plan That one stupid car was the beginning of many poor financial decisions (most of them my dad's fault) and has costed us 20 years of rent, and it's going to cost me I don't know how much more when my parents retire The only good thing to come out of it is that for me no car is prettier than financial security

Someone totaled my bought outright car and I had to take out a note on top of my cc and student loan debt😭 I got something new to me but considered used, I included the maintenance things into my note (ie, oil changes, etc), and I got a "base model" Kia Sportage I don't have some features I miss from my old car, but those features cost an extra 10k and wasn't worth it, and I overall feel safer in this car Fighting the guys insurance to give me a large sum that will cover part of this car These things will be paid off soon 💪

Hear me out, my grandpa never drove a vehicle excet his vauxhalls, he had 4-5 in his lifetime, he payed them full off, he has one home, he is broke My dad also only drives vauxhalls, he had about 2 by now, all used all payed upfront, never over 10k, he is broke I have never driven a car that was over 10k and never had a car payment, I am still broke Kept on yappin about car payments, just excuses too make the problem feel more like a "You are the problem not the economy" problem, if u don't make 200k a year, u'll always be broke matter what and u can do whatever u want with that money 99, u still be broke
