Completely disagree JavaScript is a mess as a first programming language Too each to teach bad habits It doesn’t protect the programmer so you can easily and unintentionally go down a very bad path brThe cleanest languages to learn proper programming are swift and kotlin They’re newest and won’t let you easily get into bad habits But they aren’t widely used brJava is a good compromise Often taught in schools It’s fairly clean and widely used brI’d avoid JavaScript or python as first languages But one you get the idea of OO concepts they’re fine to pick up later In particular’s still somewhat avoid JavaScript and lean towards typescript to be a little cleaner

My job uses some HTML, JAVA and SQL My job is in the hardware side but would like to get into coding as well Its not required but it would help a lot if i learned coding along side the hardware it would put more green paper in my pockets at my workplace Just looking for places/things that can teach a dummy that has 0 exp in coding

Watch this video, and do the opposite of what it says Unless you start with assembly language, you will not have an adequate understanding of a computer Whatever success you might have in your hypothetical computer programming work, you will always be limited by your lack of knowledge of computer's internals, such as opcodes
