Ngl I made 2 saves and used that feature that let you transfer gold from one save to the other I broke all promises on one save while having no money in the treasury while keeping all in the other and still having more than enough in the treasury

I bought every property and shops to make the money I kept the rent at the average, quickly realizing that if I simply repair and mess around (which I normally do), I will be getting 6 mil in no time I will still keep the promises that are needed to be kept, some are just gonna have to stay the same

I recently beat the game and I got the good ending with no landlording as a friend told me that it's just as game breaking as on fable 2brbrAs I didn't have much money I was much more incentivised to consider Reavers proposals but I still had to make up the shortfall Some of that came from buying and selling weapons (the game was kinda to me and had the aurora pawn shop paying double at the same time bowerstone and brightwall blacksmiths had 50 off), a little from selling rare gems my dog found but most from blacksmithing I think I spent around 3-4 hours of game time on it?brSeeing you do the maths on it hurt cos I was not amazing at the mini game so I probably made way more than 2500 swords 😂brbrI just headcanon'd that the queen was kitting out the whole damn army herself

1st Fable is still the best fable 2 was an outright copy with a few new things a crap DLC if you will 3 did some things differently but still feels like a very very good DLC at took things away from your game some better but some worse Here's to hoping they don't fcuk up 4

I think the most relevant review of this game would be from a first time player, because they don't know this trick to "winning" For most players the game is memorable because of the impending doom on the horizon, lending a healthy sense of urgency, and the mad scramble to raise money, combined with despair at being literally unable to do so (as the author of this video describes) despite utilizing all the methods that are apparent to beginning players It's only when you suddenly lose (everyone dies) and your are forced to go back and try again that I think most players are induced to "try harder" in the form of looking deeper into the game mechanics and doing a little research and "discovering" that land ownership is the hidden (not obvious initially) key This process of failure followed by discovery (of the trick to winning) followed by a beautiful victory is Fable 3 It's also why the game will never be better than the first time a person plays it, unfortunately

I remember playing this game! I thought, perhaps, there was a thematic twist at the end if you kept all your promises You see, in the beginning of the game, you make these promises to make life better, and because of those promises, the various groups assist you in the revolution without expecting direct, monetary payment So pardon my naïveté in thinking that, if I bkept/b all those promises, perhaps everyone would assist their beloved benevolent monarch without expecting direct, monetary payment, and rather because 1) they trust my leadership and expect me to continue bettering Albion and 2) they don't want to get murderified by the whatever it wasbrI never finished the game; I enjoyed the revolution phase well enough to finish that, but the leadership phase wore on my patience until I decided my character had tragically cracked under the pressure and disappeared into the mountains, never to be seen again

I will say, as a person who did not use a guide when they played the game at release and who has not replayed it to two completion since my initial playthrough; brbrThe game was terrible because of all the financial problems I never even had enough money to purchase a property to start making passive income And I beat the game in about 3 days so even if I had it wouldn't have rolled in enough to offset the issuesbrbrAnd I even explicitly did quests that were supposed to give a lot of money to try and get the good ending! It is honestly wild to see so many people online say the game is meaningless or empty because you simply have to rig the housing market And that's more of a informed or second playthrough kind of result

For those wondering having every house and business at max prices gives you about 4m every 5 minutes and you can get good boy points for donations to the vault and bad boy points for taking money so if you just screw around for about a hour with maxed passive income you can just max deposit for max good boy and vice versra

It wasn't much of a game I admit But there was something fun about it I just bought everything as soon as I could afford to do so, largely didn't bother upgrading furniture, and I was always swimming in money by the time the final battle started I should give it a run-through again for fun I've still got it set up on my old computer with the stub games for windows dll that lets you run the game - but without any network/multiplayer support of course Games for Windows was way worse a thing than Fable III, that's certain

I hard enjoyed the first game more due to Jack of Blades and enjoyed the sequals far lessbrbrIronically this game was the easiest for me as I was already used to the "buy every property the moment you can"brbrSo the restoration of the destruction of the city was done for money reasons because I owned everything down therebrbrI easily made all the money needed before I even overthrew the goverment which made the owning the crown part of the story was rather boring

That sound track in the first 10 seconds of the video from fable 1 main menu screen always makes me wanna tear up a little It gets me so emotional because Fable 1 was such a giant piece of my early childhood It was one of the first Xbox games I played and I still go back and play through the series to this day (20 years later) I wish I could have a time portal and just go play it for the first time again with my twin sister beside me I remember she was just as intrigued by it watching me play it The game world and characters were so odd and somewhat scary in their mannerisms but the setting was so damn charming I'm gonna show my step son this series asap All he talks about is Minecraft and I wanna show him what Xbox gaming is truly about lol or was at one point
