I actually think that "fire the customer" approach is very common in the USA I am a small dealer from Europe and I had the toughest negotiations (often not successfull) with dealers from USA They like think easy, the way they are used to, doing something little differently is a no-go for them They "fire the customer" The few who didn't were well rewarded in the long-run but really, American dealers/sellers were the most unflexible and difficult I have encountered I don't think they get the most economically this way but anyway
