I see a lot of reference to skip counting which doesn't really work in a practical sense When kids are trying to use their multiplication facts in other math problems, stoping to skip count on their fingers or whatever, slows them down and they're not actually learning the facts themselves They need to memorize the fact families 7, 3, and 21 go together When they know this, they can multiply and divide using this fact family They NEED to learn these facts Skip counting does NOT help with this

The finger trick with the 9 is very helpful! I have trouble when I get into larger numbers, but this helped with the basics!
