Ah, yes, and the ping test of tungsten: most likely you have sintered powder, eg small particles are fused together without melting So it's not truly a solid block of material If you had a piece of pure tungsten with proper lattice structure, or just a melt, it would ring just fine brbrSame goes for your non-ringing gold: it has some defects / voids, that's what is killing the sound brbrYou do not test for the actual material with those ping tests, just the quality of melt

Actually pure tungsten is not magnetic either Gold magnetic susceptibility is -3E-5, tungsten is 9E-5 For reference, nickel is 440E-5 brbrThe reason your tungsten coin appears to be magnetic is that it's not pure tungsten either, and btypically/b tungsten would have few percent of iron in it, and iron is bhighly/b magnetic brbrIf a gold coin is not pure gold, it can also easily be magnetic It's just that btypically/b non-pure gold would have silver and copper in it, and neither is magnetic either But platinum magnetic susceptibility is 26E-5, so it would be a lot more magnetic than pure tungsten And if you have any nickel or other ferromagnetics in your gold, it will manifest itself as highly magnetic brbrSo all those magnet tests are basically testing for common impurities You will not catch pure tungsten with a sliding magnet test

I have a 10g bar but it only comes up with 188 on the specific gravity test With a neodinium magnet I can get slight deflection when i pass it very close and quickly to the bar When i flip it hard in the air it pings why am I only getting 188? could it still be a fake?

The tungsten fakes I have seen required no testing whatsoever as they were all thicker than the real coins and although they had the correct diameter and weight you could tell they were fakes the second you handled them if you are familiar with Maples and Buffaloes This is likely why these often come in capsules with a foam liner in an attempt to mask their thickness
