Own several of both Get a high-end Koa from Taylor and give it some love and you’ll be rewarded with maturing low-end and resonance that’ll give any Martin a run for its money, if not blow it out of the water completely

I used to have a 1978 Martin D-41, had to sell it to pay my daughter's university I would do it again 1 hundred times, but when I think at that sound I still crybrBtw man, your playing would be delightful even with a piece of trash with six rubberbands!

They are both consistently mediocre - at least the binding on the Taylor will likely stay attached If you are looking for a budget guitar, which these both are, also have a look at Larrivee If you have more cash to part with have a look at Collings or Goodall If you have even more cash to part with have a look at a hand builds

One sounds like it was created to be used to record an album (Taylor), while the other sounds like it was created to be a deep, bold toned guitar for unplugged playing in nearly any setting (Martin)brbrThey’re created for different reasons, and each do what they were created to do nearly perfectly

The martin has so much articulation in each of its sounds and almost a melencholy undertone, but for full strumming the articulation imo seems to highlight or accent certain notes in a way that you may not be looking for, more of a specialized tool woth its own voice Martin wins, taylor for the all purpose

My Martin looks amazing, beautiful guitar , a 000 28 Eric Clapton, I put in a Martin Gold Series pick up But it feels so STIFF It truly takes more hand strength to play it I have 5 Taylor’s in the collection It’s almost like I’m grabbing an electric guitar as far as comfort and ease of playability When I grab a Taylor The Martin gets a lot of praise from the wannabe country guitar players I know, But the Taylor’s just work for me Fact : Bob Taylor has flown to Martin several times to help them with manufacturing processes that will improve their production… I love them both, if you think it’s one or the other, Christian Martin and Bob Taylor are friends and to them it’s a small world

Not really a fair comparison; the 716 is a smaller body and different wood Should have compared to the 814 Anyway, they both sound amazing but Taylor has a slimmer neck, a cut-away, and a remove-able neck Not to mention it's half the price

After 60 years of playing the guitar, I MUCH prefer the rich sound of the Martin - more resonance and a deeper sound The Taylor sounds too tin-like to me, like the difference between a soprano singer and a bass or tenor singer MAYBE after Taylor has been around as long as the Martin Company they'll figure out how to get more sound out of those

Martin decisamente più completa nella gamma delle frequenze con contrasto dinamico eccellente, mai fastidiosa sulle alte melodica e piacevole, Taylor eccellente però per me non riesce a vincere sulla rivale più costosa D-42, probabilmente un confronto con una 914 sarebbe stato più equo
