I would have to have a lot of money to invest in living in a car or van I would need to take driving lessons I would have to buy the car or van I would have to pay for maintenance of the car/van I would have to pay for insurance for the vehicle Furthermore I think that in certain states (in the US) people who are over the age of 60 are not allowed to drive

I lived with by myself in a 1bed1 bath appartment (and thru college and getting a good paying job) i was able to save 100k in a few years :) brbrNow I can afford to buy a house and the "rent" money will go towards equity that i OWN :) brbrAND i can live in a van on the weekends if i want to after i clock out of my career :)

Christian, congratulation, on your ability to save money I’m assuming since you don’t work for corporate America that you don’t have any kind of pension plan If I were you, I would take $100k of that 150k and move it into an Roth IRA account (Since you’re self-employed, you can set up a very easy self-employment 401(k) plan at a company like Fidelity, or any brokerage firm that you pick) Warren Buffett would tell you just invest it all in an S&P 500 fund Assuming that S&P 500 does as well in the next 30 years as it did in the previous 30 years When you turn 67 and no longer feel like cruising the highways of America that 100k that you saved when you were a very young 37 Will turn into 17 million!brbrAnyways, just a thought

I rented a room for almost 10 years to save enough to buy a condo and I had to deal with crazy/messy hosemates and a landlord that tried to force his religeon on me and banned my girlfriend from the property even though she hadn't done anything wrong One of my housemates tried changing his motor cycles oil over the carpet, another housemate got mad and put raw chicken in the air vent, another housemate called the police when someone cursed him out and another housemate always had his gun hanging out of his pocket even when he was drinking In hindsight I really wish I'd lived in a van instead it would have probably been cheaper than renting a room and I wouldn't have had to deal with bad housemates/bad landlords
