What is the significance of different dates on the sovereign as some are price differently At the end of the day if they are just for hedging against inflation or parking your cash into gold, why pay more? 8 grms is 8 grms and the spot price will give the same value?? Or am I missing something here?

I'm new to stacking and i've been researching prices on silver and gold bullion Silver has easily the highest premium (pretty much 50 in the UK if you're buying from the mint; VAT is clearly a chunk of that), but gold seems to hold it's value much better with significantly lower premiums and of all the bullion coins i've looked at (1oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz and sovereigns) i was quite shocked at how low a premium there is on the humble sovereign! The lowest premium of any other bullion coins i could find I do have a little collection of silver (which i will continue to grow as i do love the look and bulk of silver), but I think i'm going to start to stacking sovereigns too Thanks Really interesting video! It helped me make up my mind

For the last couple of years, the best dealers like the Atkinsons, Chards etc used to pay 100 of the current spot price (or even 1-2 over spot, yeah that's right) for the most popular 1 oz gold coins, like the Krugerrand, Maple Leaf etc Right now they're paying spot ONLY for the 9999 Royal Mint Gold coins - all the other 1 oz coins like the Krugerrand, Philharmoniker etc they pay no more than 2 UNDER spot If the things won't change (and I doubt they will - less and less people may afford to spend over £2000 per coin), it's very likely they'll no longer pay spot for ANY 1 oz gold coins - including 9999 Britannia But at the same time, I'm pretty sure you'll still get your full spot price for your both Full and Half Sovereigns

I also think sovereigns are king for us gold stackers here in UK, britannias look very nice but the fact I can get a half sov for better value than a 1/4 brit and the full sovs being even better 🔥 there's nothing that beats the sov for stackers, great fractional that's affordable for most and of course CGT exempt, bit of history chucked in with the older ones too I mean what more do you want haha we're lucky to live here and have that opportunity imo 👍 hope you have a great day ahead mac mate, really enjoyed this video 🤝🍻
