I was lucky enough to see the band perform on the Brothers in Arms tour here in Melbourne in 1986 As an 18 year old, I remember queuing up for tickets all day (pre internet of course) and being ecstatic at the chance to see my heroes perform And seeing the maestro, Mark Knopfler, put in a virtuso performance on the guitar and showcasing his amazing talent was something I still remember fondly to this day Watching this has brought back wonderful memories of a time in my life when I was just starting on the journey to adulthood and a time when we had some amazing music to enjoy

My mum took myself and my older brother to this concert at the Sydney Entertainment centre when I was 9 years old It was my first ever concert/show! The first cd i ever bought was Brothers in Arms The older i get, the more i love this!

Such magnificent musicianship At their masterful peak Mark and Jack were the perfect opposites who worked so superbly together It was devastating to hear of Jack’s passing It’s very special being able to see Chris take us back to the glory days with DSE Can’t wait to see them again back in Melbourne very soon Thank you for restoring this very special concert I’ve watched it hundreds of times but never like this

When a show starts caring more about how the musicians look than how they sound together, it's frustrating I'm not big on those "back in my day" arguments or claiming my generation is better (I'm not even from the Dire Straits era), but let's face it, pop music talent has taken a nosedive in the last 30 years It's crazy how little skill you seem to need to make it as a musician nowadays The pop music industry has totally sidelined actual music, and that just bums me out
