is computer based ielts taken in a test center or at home? can i take all the sections of the test at home? the state im living in doesn't provide ielts test centers so i was thinking of giving it online but sometimes it says that the speaking section must be done in the test center i actually wanna pursue my undergrad in the US and for that do i need to give my ielts in an offline mode necessarily?brbralso how is ielts online different from computer based ielts?

Today, I did a computer based exam (speaking part) It was really bad The internet was not stable and the quality of sound was not good I will never do a computer based exam again

I think one con I don't really see anyone talking about This is just an assumption but I could be correct, if you take the test on a computer, just like in the practice mock tests they grade it automatically through their system Which is why I believe you get the results earlier So there's no one checking your answers one by one, which might lead to being penalized as you're not getting half points for any correct answers you had but still left an error for example, the question is asking you the price of the ticket and the answer is 200 pounds But you only had to write down 200 since there was a pounds sign (£) in the sentence so now it's incorrect

Hi there, for listening test I understand time will be given at the end of each section for quick answer review However, if I don't check my answer and quickly turn to next section, will I get the advantage of "extra time" to read the questions in next section? Or the audio will start as soon as I turn to next section and hence there is actually no advantage? thanks in advance

Hi Asiya, this is Nur I got 75 in computer-based Ielts test and i can confidently say that your help was significant in my achievement If I hadn’t learned about ‘highlight’ and ‘copy-paste’ futures in the test, I don’t think I would achieve a nice band in Reading I also think that computer-delivered test is more manageable and more practical So, overall, thank you very much 🎀

60 min for writing is never enough in the paper based test if you're using a draft before writing the final copy, no matter how good or fast you are In this regard I prefer the PC version because you're typing and correcting only once, leaving time to add vocab and correct mistakes

When I took the familiarity test for the CDT format, I've noticed that in the listening section, the questions weren't in the same order as the audio Probably because the layout of the questions were already in 2 columns so there was no need to scroll down But it was very bamboozling and I was really struggling to identify the questions as the audio was playing So I wonder if the real test also does that?
