Most commercial & municipal pools in the US will not allow head first entry in less than 9ft of water to reduce the risk of spinal injury The Red Cross recommends at least 10 ft You may notice that the out of water demonstrations on this video are all showing the instructor diving into the shallow end of the pool which is probably 4-5 ft deep That is not a safe location for anyone to do diving Please make sure the water you practice in is at least 10 ft deep

I didn't learn it as a kid, was scared and near-sighted so the sea surface was far away and blurry But now I am 45, I wear lenses and I am confident that yes, I can! Will try this summer

I'm considering taking a diving class because when I took swimming lessons when I was younger, the program didn't teach diving The problem is that although the diving class is for under age 18, I'm 16 and will be with a bunch of young kids (the oldest is 12)
