Made some slight changes with mine Acid adjusted 4oz of orange juice so that it had the same citric acid content as lemon juice and used that instead Made a spiced demarara syrup with cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla Upped the sugar to 4oz instead (maybe I overdid it with the citric acid? but I found it slightly unbalanced towards the sourness without it) And man this is the best sangria I've ever had

This looks good As you said, basically anything goes in a sangría, but this kinda goes against to the concept of sangría we have in Spain It's just way too boojie It's originally a way to make cheap wine more pallatable and enjoyable in the summer Damn, when we were teenagers we used to make it in laundry buckets, with cheap ass wine, soda, sugar, and whatever alcohol and fruit you had on hand This is way too fancy for sangría That being said, obviously seems so much better Except the sherry wine, i dont see how that flavor fits there honestly

If you want to make a more traditional Iberian version (aka Spain and Portugal) you also add 1/2 sticks of cinnamon and a few springs of mint with the fruit and sugar You would also let the fruit macerate with the sugar and later add your strong liquor of choice and the red wine Chill as much as possible and serve it on a very hot and dry summer day!

Oh - this time: hard passbrConsulting a Spanish recipe for the last couple of years, you could call me a Sangria maestro:br• Oxidative wine aperitifs are a terrible idea in Sangria (and you could use fino or Manzanilla, but at the end, you really would not laste much of it)br• Too much sugar People who are into Sangria usually like more “wine’y” Sangria - but definitely not sugar bombsbr• Mixture of lemon juice and orange juice works wellbr• No infused apples in the Sangria (this is my personal feeling about apple macerations: in my eyes they taste like “hot-garbage”br• Instead of Demerara or other sugar, I make a syrup out of clear apple juice (there you get some apple aromas from) add some lemon and orange peel in and just one piece of cinnamon of course you could use organic sugar - but I am a fan of the clean sweetness of normal caster sugar It won’t become very cinnamon’y though
