India will soon be the largest English speaking nation on the planet Even the poorest kids in Indian villages are being taught English language extensively I studied in a government school and we had English as our medium of instruction English was the language of Maths and Science and thankfully our Maths teacher was very fluent in it Though the English teacher who was supposed to make us fluent in the language sucked It's ironic that I learnt to speak English by immitating my Maths teacher and laughing at my English teacher in the school LoL

I think the English language is the most Flexible language in the world It can incorporate or export words into itself It is a combination of many foreign words Just go back a few hundred years, and a person would have a hard time understanding someone speaking English

Practice makes perfect Attend Community College classes, watch Telemundo or Univision or any other Spanish channel you have(watch with subtitles so you can see the words and pick up the accent and keep a eye out for common phrases) Most important keep a good English-Spanish Dictionary with you Hope this helps! :)

In the beginning of the video the lady talking in front of her classmates seemed to be able to use English words & phrases in the correct context but listening to her heavy Chinese accent some people may need to run the segment of the video over a few times to pick out what she is saying Like the English announcements you get at the Shanghai airport Even after hosting a world expo you'd expect the Chinese would start improving their accent

There is a lot of fluent English speakers in China There are also common mistakes including using a similar word than the correct one in a sentence: "There is NO a lot of good schools" instead of "There is NOT a lot of good schools" And quite common subject-verb conjugation: "My father DON'T know instead of "My father DOESN'T know" On the other hand, have a friend living in the US in N Carolina A state with few Chinese yet many White people there are learning Pinyin

I had years of French education in school, and got A's Today, I cannot speak a single word of French I can honestly read Chinese better than French, which is sad, because written Chinese is pretty much the most difficult script out there, and I've only ever studied it in my spare time

In a way, Chinese always have the mentality of the "Middle Kingdom" On the other hand, there is the reverse trend for foreigners to learn Chinese to communicate to the 1B people Like Singapore English becomes a tool for business You think the English alphabet is difficult? Think of Koreans who decided to abandon Chinese characters because the young people found it too difficult to learn and does not represent the Korean language well And so they all switch to their alphabet (Hangeul)

We need to speak one international language I don't care which one it'd be, i have no prejudices against languages And since programming and scientific languages are de-facto english, it only makes sense to learn it I cannot really understand reasons for rejecting a tool that would allow you to communicate with people of any other nationality
