I’m thinking of the a55 or nord4 the one thing to note is the updates I believe are 4 years on Samsung and 6 on the nord4 however I can get the samsung around £100-150 cheaper

Re: the A55, I understand that 25W charging isn't fast compared to many other phones, but the reality is that it takes about an hour to charge from like 20 to 100 Is it that big of a deal to have it plugged in for 1 hour?

I have found that a lot of Chinese brand phones don't last well before becoming near unusable (only 2 years usually), despite not doing anything crazy with them Specifically the likes of Xiaomi and Honor They have good specs for the price but they do not last well and very glitchy UI No reviews warn you about this Yes they're great at the start but they slow down and there's so many glitches My current phone is OnePlus Nord 2T and it's been pretty good, i plan on replacing it sometime next year when i see a good deal Probably a little sooner than i was planning because it's getting quite slow and apps are crashing quite a lot Although maybe that's due to the apps themselves I've heard the Nord 4 has a lot more bloatware and advertising which puts me off tbh, but i do like that it's good for gaming and the very fast charging is something i never knew i wanted (nord 2t is 65W) I don't think any phones should have advertising, since i already paid for the phone OnePlus phones have always served me well compared to other Chinese brands in terms of performance and longevity, but even my Nord 2t has a lot of annoying features i can't disable and never use They just get in the way and take up space I'm thinking Nothing Phone 2A plus might be a better option for good UI whilst still being okay for gaming Performance benchmark scoring is only a little better than my current phone but i get the impression it's a much cleaner UI and no intrusive bloatware I have considered Google Pixel 8A but the poor battery life and slow charging is a deal breaker, not to mention gaming performance pretty bad and my dad has not been particularly happy with his Pixel phone (not sure which, possibly 8 pro?) I feel like mid range phones really aren't improving that much at the moment, other than getting a bit cheaper It's a shame that there's so much focus on AI integration, most people barely use it and it's only useful for a few very specific things
