I remember when you used to get normal double eagles for $1300 (way back in 2018) Also if you look at the details of Liberty's hair they do differ on the various types brbrAlso the New Orleans mint stopped production in 1861 (year Civil War started) but it actually minted double eagles again in 1879

I'm fortunate to have common date $20 lib and saint in 63 and 64, respectively They're both beautiful and I really enjoy them The lib is my favorite Classic look and feel

The $20 Liberty is one of my favorite coin designs I think the shield modification on the Type 2 was an improvement from the Type 1 The one thing I do like about the Type 3 is that there is more detail on Liberty's head despite the somewhat odd repositioning I wish the mint would do a modern release of this coin in proof

Hi, Ben I like the Type3 reverse with dollar spelled out My 1904 T3 was less expensive than the T1 & T2 coins, and I like that I have only that one $20 gold piece in my Type Set I like your CC T2 coin I think a Type Set with key coins would be a killer I'm talking about all Types, including copper, silver, and gold issues 1877 IHC, 09S VDB Lincoln, 1916D Merc, 1916 SLQ, 1889CC Morgan, 1928P Peace, etc Have you ever seen such a Type Set? A CC Type Set would be badass bTYU/b

I have my 1872 Type II in XF condition - Paid $48500 for it in the 1990's I also have a BU 1899 Type 3 that I paid $69900 for in the same time period

Those are certainly beautiful and collecting those types isn't really too tough since examples of most can be had for not tons over the gold price That said gold isn't cheap so I don't see myself having a large collection of them They are fun to see, though Thanks!
