It's definitely not a pokémon clone just because it's a monster hunting game, it actually has so many things going for it that make it really unique A more fitting comparison would be "kid-friendly Shin Megami Tensei"

It's similar to pokemon, but it has a lot more personality, and it's really quirky (in a good way) It's pretty lighthearted and has THOUSANDS of hours worth of content, with so many little details and a post game longer than the main game You chose the right one too! Ykw2 is the best place to start if you don't plan on playing all of them
