This is a very interesting video i have a question i'm a newbie who is trying to make good choicesIn 2014 Canada mint release a silver coins of $50 the name was Snowy Owl and was selling it for $50 if i buy some of those coins can i go to the bank lets say in 5 years and exchange those coins for $50 the face value Comment from : @joeylabranche1014 |
is your voice ok? Comment from : @younesrachdi-broadway2443 |
Great video! You explained everything This is very helpful, especially for newer stackers Comment from : @Jojo-tq5pt |
I buy 1 coin with 1oz commemorative coin 10,000yen that cost 96dollar It is expensive ? Comment from : @wilsonuntalan5447 |
I'm having trouble finding why 77 oz is the standard for a dollar Anyone know? Comment from : @mostlycensored7668 |
nice👍👍😍😎 Comment from : @TheSkyballs |
Such simple concept you make it so difficult! Comment from : @whiteglove5723 |
Historically, PM minted money was used in trade and it only mattered what the weight and purity of the PM's were, not the king, emperor, government, etc that struck it or what was struck on it Comment from : @Foundry_made |
Meanwhile 1 oz Palladium coins have a $25 face value, insane! Comment from : @txpyro1885 |
Well you probably had to make this video because public schools don't teach anything Comment from : @MrNedsaabdickerson |
Are they exempt from tax when you buy them, like UK gold coins are? Comment from : @garyhendrick4391 |
In most nations, the face value is there simply for taxation purposes Take the UK, for example On generic Silver, there is capital gains tax Hell, even on foreign bullion coinage However, for coins denominated in Pounds, there is no capital gains tax Comment from : @numismaticmaster8612 |
So like all things dealing with the government and makes no sense what you're saying Merry Christmas brother and thanks for sharing! Comment from : @dwingsworld2581 |
12:55 what was the point of this videothis guy sounds like an idiot and he is an idiot Comment from : @JW-uq7zp |
And 20 silver oz coins could be exchanged for a 1 oz gold coin, back in the day Comment from : @lamarravery4094 |
Just watching the beginning wanted to say beautiful morgan in the beginning Comment from : @joeyseeds2039 |
Amazing how at one time 100 copper pennies could give you nearly an oz of silver in a silver dollar But pennies were worth more than they are now Comment from : @lamarravery4094 |
Likewise the Krugerrand was the first 1 Oz gold coin minted starting in 1967 The South African government chose not to include a denomination due to huge daily fluctuations in the price of gold Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
The British sovereign and South African Krugerrand do not include denominations or face values for historic reasons The British sovereign was the first gold coin of standardized weight to be used in international trade It was understood in 1816 when sovereigns were issued, they would have an agreed value in trade of one pound sterling Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
Does face value matter on coins made of precious metals? What's the entire point of putting a denominational value on bullion or semi bullion coins given these examples? It's certainly a mystery why governments choose to assign different denominational values to different sizes of coins Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
What about Isle of Man Cat coins and Isles of Guernsey, Jersey, Falkland Islands, St Helena and Ascension Islands ? Isle of Man Cat coins are made by the Pobjoy Mint that not even located on the Isle of Man It's is South Surrey and the denomination of the coins are crowns which are no longer used Guernsey, Jersey use doubles which aren't even modern currency denominations So are these rounds not coins ? Confused Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
I also notice the Mexican Libertad does not have a denomination, so why do people still call it a coin, not a round? The same goes for a British gold sovereign which has no denomination on it So is a British sovereign a gold round and not a gold coin We call silver pieces with denominations "coins" and those without "rounds" but if you look at these two examples, it's very ambiguous Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
Is the Somali Elephant wildlife series"fantasy coins" ? It says 500 shillings and Somali Republic The series is not even minted in Somalia and is not even legal tender there It is made in Germany by the Bavarian mint Pretty sure Somalia refers to itself as "Republic of Somalia " and not "Somali Republic" What are your thoughts on this? Comment from : @goldmaple4360 |
Isnt it amazing that we value gold and silver in dollars? At one point in time dollars were representative of its value in gold So now we value gold in dollars that are really worth nothing When the dollar collapses , how will we value gold and silver? Comment from : @natesandoval6917 |
Those Canadian 5oz one cent coins are holding their premiums and therefore, I sadly don't have one I also haven't been able to get the one dime gold Mercury to go with my other two That was a great series Comment from : @meteoman7958 |
You da bomb Salivate Comment from : @richardc488 |
Amazing video Comment from : @regosilver1147 |
I'm not surebut I think that if u cross a borderwith let say 10 oz of gold with denominated value, don't need to declare itcos u stay on the 10000 dollars limit Comment from : @EM-oz2mv |
1:50 A Morgan, Walking Liberty, Standing Liberty and a Mercury In memory of the good old days I wasn't around to see Comment from : @silvervalleystudios2486 |
We certainly live in a crazy world! Comment from : @CyberCurtainTwitcher |
People call rounds coins all the time and people who should know better Comment from : @SilverWolverine95 |
Good presentation I was coin roll hunting a $25 box of pennies a little while back and was struck that at one time, you could trade it for more than one OZ of gold ca 1930 😮 Comment from : @MilledSteel |
Look how gracious I am to have allowed so many to post before me This is my bounty -- this is a gift I give to even unto Donald in New Mexico whose pieces never add up Comment from : @TrikkeGuy |
Its like an insane person (Congress) was choosing the denominations and has no concept of Inflation! 😜 Comment from : @aneia6353 |
Like 32! Comment from : @hiddencoinchannel3165 |
Sal, you missed/forgot to mention controversial Mexico Libertad with no face value But is legal tender & backed by the government in Mexico, even with no face value you can exchange libertads for pesos or pesos for Libertads at Mexican banks Comment from : @truckinprepper8743 |
Eleventh Hi Sal I would like a dollar face of that Canadian Cent And a heard of Buffalos bTYU#18/b Comment from : @donaldinnewmexico |
Sal, it is my understanding that the IRS does not honor our US mint's coinage of bullion and commemorative coins face value So how can these coins be considered "legal tender"? Comment from : @peterbartoldus6529 |
Interesting video, like you said today the face values is just to make it a coin and give it credibility In Germany you find a lot of coinbars because there are lower tax on them than on normal bars Comment from : @andreg3912 |
isn't are clad coins produced by the U S MINT are they different from a fed reserved dollar maybe we should stack that to Comment from : @ifitflipsitships5102 |
" Two of the half dollars would make, fifty-cents" 🤣🤙 Comment from : @CenturionSilver |
Bernard von Nothaus, who was co-founder of the Royal Hawaiian Mint, was charged with counterfeiting and domestic terrorism for making the Norfed dollars, was initially sentenced to 22 years, I think he served 1 yearIts odd that the Germania mint is allowed to put a 5 Mark denomination on those rounds Comment from : @667hodge |
Interesting video Thanks for the upload Stack it high and wide! Comment from : @martialhealth4062 |
