"An introduction to statistical learning" Comment from : 9019828585 |
|
I’ve just finished the 3rd chapter of the second edition It’s excellent I have ok math chops but had no formal stats training of any kind I’m supplementing with some basic stats as I go but so far, it hasn’t been an issue I’ve been studying linear algebra for the past 6 months so I do understand a bit of the maths behind linear regression Learning R has been loads of fun too I also wanted to point out that the authors have an entire YouTube channel to support the book That has also been an excellent resource Comment from : pipertripp |
|
can u suggest a book or a video on minimum statistics required before going into this book? Comment from : Anshuman Tekriwal |

Hi thanks for all the advice you've shared so far I have been learning a lot Lately, I have been digging into lifetime algorithm to predict customer life time value I only get 60 of the material I read as there were a lot of statistical models in the algorithm itself Beta distribution, for example, is the one giving the most trouble I have been trying to find stats book or probability book to explain about this But my search does not produce any fruit I don't really understand the application and assumption of beta distribution It would be a great help if you could suggest some stats book or probability book which covers this distribution in a comprehensive way and has real world example of its application That would be tremendous help for me Thanks in advance Comment from : Meng Hong Por |

Well, $5200 for a tiny little pamphlet, on Amazon, (October 1st, 2020), is a little too steep of a price, softly speaking It is DEFINITELY not freebrFor that money, I could buy a full course manual; used, but, still, in good condition brbrI went to school, and I know, what I'm talking about Comment from : John Smith |

Any advise on the best book for Natural Language Processing ? brNLP could be exciting and I am keen to get to hand on with NLP with Python I couple I have seen on Amazon: bra) The NLP in Python by Stevan Bird was written in 2009, and so may be rather dated now by current DL methods LSTM methods brb) The NLP in Action by Lane Hobson I really into the 'In Action' series of books But I am worried that this text seems to be based around the use of their own Git hub repository 'nlpia' rather than developing from python NLTK Comment from : Jules Wombat |
