oh this phenomena in the west all of us influenced by spiritualism and spiritism may have come across joss paper at least once before it is just that spiritualism is popular again now like it was in the past so with that comes the fascination with all things from the mystical east i recall seeing prominent sellers of african american spiritual goods selling these joss papers in their shops twenty years ago and further back of course you would also see them for sale in the chinese variety stores too but at that time it was not so acceptable for everyone to adopt such a thing

Imo we should stop doing it or at least drastically reduce the amount of paper we burn In my neighbourhood there would be at least 50 houses burning stacks and stacks of paper, which i can only imagine the effects it has on deforestation on a global scale and air pollutionbrDont get me wrong its something beautiful and its cool when my family burns a giant paper model of the jade emporer's palace, but its just something we should really cut down on
