@Invisibleaccordingtoyou
I'm averaging 5 default rate so for those considering it, it can work I do hand-pick my loans Which is more time-consuming but it's what I am comfortable with Stick to your numbers If the loan meets my criteria I lend And if there are no loans meeting the criteria I don't lend Stay disciplined and you be fine It's not a get-rich-quick thing but it has been steady and growing better than my other more traditional investments So for me it's worth the time investment

Thank you that was very informative! very well thought out and executed I've learned everything I need to know about peer-to-peer lending in that 16 minute video and I definitely will be keeping my money in stocks, high yielding bonds & CD's instead of that peer-to-peer

@dannylengyel5830
There's one other risk that you failed to mention: the risk that the loan is paid back in full too soon That cuts into the investor's return

@asphaltandtacos
I am staying away from this type of investment given the recent interest rate environment Closed end funds can have attractive yields while being highly liquid The biggest downside would be the fees

@asphaltandtacos
I am looking at Ground Floor as the loans are secured by real estate The downside is that you do not get interest until the loan is paid in full The upside is that you can fund multiple loans across different credit risks I prefer to invest in secured loans Oh, there are no fees with this platform from what I understand I appreciate your thoughts on this type of investing
Comment from : @asphaltandtacos

@rogsolaris7411
Thank you for the helpful video I am new to learning about P2P investing It seems like the risk of default would be very, very high What are the consequences to a borrower when they default? If I lend out $1,000, what stops the borrower from just disappearing?
Comment from : @rogsolaris7411

@robinmazariegos1

SOooo 🤔 Hmm 🧐 Is There a Peer-2-Peer Platform That Is Secure 🔐 & LOW To ZERO Fees as Though It's a Partnership of Peer-To-Peer Lending 🧐🔐🤔 Hmm, Is Their???

@seanc4495
Currently have 2 years worth of time on Prosper providing loans of $25 max per person, your risk is minimized by spreading out your loans with small amounts per loan, I have 500 loans currently and have had 15-16 returns annually even after taking losses of 2-3 from defaults I don't see many Prosper users commenting here, would be great to hear from actual Prosper users more Prosper has helped me diversify my investments and it is quite stable compared to the stock market, I'm still today getting 15 while the stock market is getting hammered in 2022
Comment from : @seanc4495

@Nikkivail

@my-shiftsoftajah2343
I think that peer-to-peer lending sharing community concept already registered and its intellectual rights for (myshift-softajah non-profit corporation)???
Comment from : @my-shiftsoftajah2343

@chriscooper339
Somehow I’m a year in with no defaults or late payments (80 of my p2p investments are in the higher risk ratings) I’ve been getting around 15 But I also go over the borrowers stats first and won’t invest if their debt to income is to high
Comment from : @chriscooper339

@crystalm2460
Hi brand new sub here i work at a min wage job and don't have good credit myself What is the application like to become a lender? What do they ask? Do you think the issues I just mentioned will get my application rejected? The whole thing sounds risky but I'm weighing my options and just learning about these things so I'm wondering if they would even let me be a lender Thanks!

@DeepSleepRhythms
I found a black owned real estate company doing something similar (community based peer to peer lending) with a return of 20 (1 yr) - all documents official and reviewed by my financial advisor I like this concept better than P2P lending sites because it feels a bit more personal

@that1redhairedguy
I tried investing an even 1k on Lending Club, and I picked the majority of low-risk loans (A rank) they called them, and 4 of them defaulted, so in 2 years, I made a 065 return I don't suggest using Lending club at all their loan vetting is horrible (Summary I earned 065 interest in 2 years with lending club it's trash!)

Comment from : @sarahhicks3971

@Hayashirice911
The possibility of the borrower defaulting and not being FDIC insured is a deal breaker for me personally I would feel much better about getting "guaranteed" (over the long term) returns on my stock investment than it potentially just dropping down to 0 with absolutely no chance of getting it back
Comment from : @Hayashirice911

Comment from : @adavid2548

@bluesunproductions9079
Spot on analysis on p to p lending sites I was a credit manager for bank for 20 years and I can tell you they don’t give you enough information to make a good risk decision even if you know how to access this type of risk I invested in one of the big names early and only risk small investment Lost far more than I made and I know what I am doing I really question the lending sites stated default rates The big red flag is the fact that these borrowers are coming to this site because if they could not borrow at a bank Don’t you think they would go to a traditional bank with even cheaper rates if they could In my 20 years of making risk decisions if a borrower was turned down by another bank that was a big red flag The lending sites have zero risk, they are just a medium for this exchange they don’t lose any money if the loan goes bad There are far less risky things to put your money in to get similar returns
Comment from : @bluesunproductions9079

Never heard of peer to peer lendingAnother excellent video! 😉 That will be a big fat no for me too! 🙃
Comment from : @tonibarrett8809

@brians2733
It’s good to see you guys talk about P2P lending, but I have always been very skeptical of this as an investment vehicle It is very economy dependent and it is not a tax-advantageous way to invest I’m very risk averse and lack trust in strangers (and the typical person who takes out a peer to peer loan) so this also is a negative toward this type of investment
Comment from : @brians2733

Things are getting real over here, in Chicago! Thanks for another great video! ☮️
