I would prefer not to look at a boring leaf, and a wicked monarch A monarch that believes that God has ordained him to rule over the people brAs an American, the Maple is nearly blasphemous Comment from : @copperbones7336 |
Both Both are good Comment from : @ExtraSqueaky |
I agree that the CM is a better buy BUT as states recognize PM as currency, most recognize US minted coins Comment from : @kenpeters9807 |

Beauty:maple with the queen Comment from : @kenpeters9807 |

Stack both, those maples are beautiful, I have a bunch of 2023 and i love them, definitely higher quality on older ASEs, all the 2016 I have are beautiful, my 2024 just has a dull look compared to the maples and older Eagles Comment from : @jb1996BLOP |

I am a Maple fan In my area they are also easier to sell because they aren't as common in shops Comment from : @cknorris |
Since there is no tax on the purchase of American Eagles does that factor into the price when buying and selling Eagles or Maple Leafs Comment from : @The12348567 |

I had forgotten you do videos on your own and not just all videos at the coin shop I'm glad because the coin shop videos are helpful but seem to be kinda fake even though there is good info in the videos and some entertainment value I like your videos from your studio Glad you aren't just helping a very cool old coin dealer move his product I know all of your videos take time and effort but I like your stand alone videos better although you're getting Hella view hours out of the coin store vids You're a smart YouTuber with a really good coin shop to lean on Keep doing you I'll subscribe Happy new year Comment from : @OutdoorGearAddiction |
I totally agree with all of your points except that I like the look of the Maple better I agree that "King Charles" image is ugly and undesirable though, just don't turn the leaf over and look at his image Lol Comment from : @rustyrooster4879 |
Im sticking with American minted coins :) Comment from : @Ihatezidiotz |
I like the maple because they are slightly smaller in diameter and I like the ping TBH the Krugerrand has the best ping…I still need to get a Britannia and Philharmonic before I decide which one is my favorite…but for me it will come down to ping and diameter It’s silly but that’s just me Comment from : @drm-qg2fr |
I have Maples, but I bought the ones that went slightly milky Also purchased the half oz Calgary Stampede coins that do not have any milking The milk spots are a bummer, the Canadian Mint should replace them, it's their mistake Comment from : @MrAllan9 |
There are tax exempt benefits of selling American mint coinage Comment from : @scottishgold6595 |
With only a few more years of Trudeau, Canada won't even exist, so the Maples will be worth even more Comment from : @jaredroussel |
Maple Leaf is a beautiful coin and hands down better looking than the Eagle Seems struck better as well This makes me want to buy some Maple Leafs! Comment from : @HH-gn9qt |

Could you spend a little time discussing the taxes end when you trade in for cash? Maybe talk it over with Harry the next time you’re in his shop? Comment from : @NutmegRail |

I stack strictly for value Hands-down only maple ! Pretty has nothing to do with retirement value Regarding anything that’s collectible in the way of coinage I’ll take a pass The loaf of bread cost analysis silver in the worst of times a rare coin ain’t gonna get you an extra slice Comment from : @terryoliver1410 |
The cheaper one Comment from : @jacekjam8643 |
5oz libertad Comment from : @donsapunk |
Hands down the obverse of the ASE but I dislike the reverse Depending on price and spread I will most likely buy the maples If the reverse of the ASE was more like the pre 1921 silver dollar or pre 64 half dollar I would buy the ASE Comment from : @leeshafer5656 |
I prefer the Canadian Maple 🍁 Leaf 🍃 Comment from : @jopiaspieder1184 |
I like and have both but my Maple Leafs are before they started putting lines all over them and the leaf sides are ireally/i pretty I also like the slightly more chunky feel of the Maple Leafs Comment from : @Chuckles |
Just bought a roll of 20 silver coins for $34 a piece I guess I over paid but it’s my first time buying them Comment from : @ChristIsLord7 |
I can’t say, which is better, it depends on trying to use both of them for barter how much of the population would accept each particular coin in trade for goods and services? Comment from : @richardladow4734 |

Neither reallybrBuy your lowest priced generic round and keep stacking Comment from : @islesanctum833 |
The silver eagle is a very Boring coin The maple is semi proof, and a better looking coin with great security features The silver eagle is SAD Comment from : @weniwidiwici726 |
I did the spread math at my coin shop and the non DNA maples are actually better than generic rounds if you can believe it While the rounds are cheaper to buy the purchase price is lower enough that the maple comes ahead The DNA maples is another story however as they cost me quite a bit more to buy and don't reward you with a much higher buyback to match it I have to say I also HATE looking at prince Charles so this is another good reason to be buying the older maples Mind you I don't like looking at Queen Elizabeth either I do have to say that the maple itself both on the silver and gold coins looks really amazing and has a special "sparkle" to it that I really like Comment from : @Matt-man69 |
anything that is minted from various countries, it shouldn't matter Comment from : @RA-Redacted68 |
I buy either one that has the lowest premium, usually maples, but sometimes Eagles are on sale, especially lately Comment from : @robertbush8327 |
Definitely the Silver Eagle Comment from : @josephselch5769 |
Design wise my favorite are the maple leaf and the krugerrand Comment from : @aceg7098 |
Our US dollar is less valuable than Canadian money Comment from : @123playland |
My LCS pays a lot less for Maples because of their history of milk spots, even though that problem has been corrected in recent years They don't want the hassle of differentiating by year Comment from : @bkm83442 |
You buy Sovereigns when living outside the western world Comment from : @tylernathan7985 |
Anti-counterfeiting???? If you can’t tell silver is silver in ounce sizes you have no business ducking around with it Comment from : @tylernathan7985 |
I buy both coins I usually slab the Eagles and just stack the Maples in the tubes and forget about them Comment from : @ericsautos |
For stacking it is the Maple but being an American and loving America and I love the Eagle old style which is what I buy mostly because of strength and beauty The other thing to consider is the Eagle is a stronger made coin Comment from : @ericsautos |
So glad you did this video because I have been trying to understand it all My biggest concern though is because it’s Canadian will you have the same buying power here in America if times go bad Because I just know in regular Canadian coins people won’t accept those even vending machines won’t accept those For that reason, I just feel and I don’t know anything about this stuff, but I just feel that buying the American is better for me for peace of mind I could be wrong Comment from : @grasscutter1963 |
If you have milk spots on your 2018 coins are they less valuable?? Comment from : @Goldie-ANNEFARGO |
British Britannia beats all with lower premium and 4 security features Comment from : @titiung |
The best 1 oz silver coin is just a simple, cheap silver round (or rectangle) When you go to sell the two above you will get no more than you would for a simple silver round Comment from : @ed345 |
Dragons, can you do a comparison with ASE, Maples, and Libertads? Comment from : @edgararellano5671 |
Sorry, can’t buy anything with King Charles face on it Comment from : @floridaman4073 |
Overall I like the maple leaf better🙂 Comment from : @coolvideos777 |
I hate to say it, but King Charles' doesn't look the best on the maple leaf😢brbrI feel bad saying that😢 Comment from : @coolvideos777 |
Love the Maples Comment from : @michaelcampbell2147 |
Silver is silver so whichever is cheapest is the best This is a pointless video Comment from : @stanleybaldwin401 |
What about the silver Britannia? Comment from : @picklerick4944 |
I only buy American silver eagles, not interested in anything European or Canadian, just personal preference Comment from : @eddiebaird8368 |

Best price is the winner Comment from : @timf2279 |
The only problem i have with the Maples,is the royal family on its side The leaf is beautiful, but Charles III is 🤮 Comment from : @carbonduke01 |
How much do Eagle's cost? I live on the East Coast of Canada and I'm pretty sure the price of the Maple Leafs go for between $4000 to $5000 depending on year, condition, etc 2024 King Charles III Maple Leaf from the RCM is selling for $5400 to almost $6000 Comment from : @JasonWatsonWatty |
The Maple Leafs, the last few years the small leaf mark on the coin can be scanned You get the whole history of that coin From blank planchet to struck coin Comment from : @JasonWatsonWatty |
I'm Canadian, however my favorite coin is the Mexican Libertad, truly a beautiful coin in silver but especially in gold and especially as a proof coin And the Mexican mint is the oldest in North AmericabrThat being said, I like the maples, but do not want to see "King" Charles on my money Canada needs to grow up and ditch that idea I was sort-of okay with Queen Elizabeth II, but Charles? Come on, he's a goofbrUS Eagles are nice too, nothing against the eaglesbrI'll take any pure silver bullion coin, the silver is what matters I also have a Philharmonic, a Britannia, a Krugerand, a Kookaburra, an Armenian Noah's Ark, a St Helena Silver one ounce coin (nice one!), a Nicaraguan Tortoise, and a Ukrainian Archangel Michael one ounce coin (a very nice coin! Slava Ukraine!) I also have some Silver Shield one ounce silver coins - "in Debt and Death They Trust" I love them all!brI do not own nor ever will own a Russian Ballerina (Nyet!), nor a Chinese Panda Comment from : @supermash1 |
I'm in Canada, love the Maple, and love the savings brbrThat said, stack the coin of your realm If things get weird, you'll want the home made stuffbrbrSo that is an ASE if you are in the US Comment from : @martinrev8487 |
I did what you and Yankee advice before buying anything and that was to ask my coin dealer what he would buy faster, no doubt and he said the Maples so although I'm going veeery slow, I want to do Maples (hoping not to find Charles on them and go from the late Queen to William (or whoever xd)) Comment from : @lopezjuan316jl |
Re: The missing reed br US mint official: We're going to use a missing reed as a anti-counterfeit measurebr Silver Stacker: But that can be easily fakedbr US mint official: People shouldn't be counterfeiting coins Comment from : @drmodestoesq |
Thanks Silver Dragon I am glad you included the MINTSHIELD Trademarked technology Since 2018, The Royal Canadian Mint has included this coating to help with any potential 'milk spots' I agree wholeheartedly with your final analysisGo Maple Leafs!! LOL Comment from : @rmarshall6747 |
nope the eagles i like are the gold ones with just the head of the eagle ^^ can't wait tommorow my 3 perth mint coins are arriving ^^ i'll unbox it tomorrow on my stacker channel that i just made, as soon as i receives it, and i'll show my two coins from last month (2x 1oz Krugerrands silver) and tomorrow 3 1oz coins from perth mint with one of my favorites : kookaburra (2024 this one, silver) but yeah next month i'll take the same 2024 kookaburra but in 1/10oz gold ^^ , the two others of perth mint for tomorrow are a surprise for the video lol ^^branyway i really have found a new passion with stacking,,, and there's money i use for "not usefull stuff like games etc, it's usefull but you just spend , here you transform in something tangible an that hold its value even getting bigger year after year,,,, money burn my hands, but now i love to stack and you don't want to sell your collection as i count on doing this all my life, so yeah if i want to get the money i have to make the choice to separe me of a few pieces but if it's really usefull like buying a car etc, but if not well it can't burn your hands as you need to go sell the stuff and you want to stack to more possible, actually this month i economise double of last month and next month i'l still gonna have more money, by not buying sh**tty stuffs ^^ Comment from : |
Breakdown on spread should be based purely on percentage Using your example one would conclude that premiums on gold are way higher than on silver when the reverse is true Comment from : @nathanielwilliams6609 |
I'd be curious to see a series like this comparing a few of the low premium niue coins against the maples the same categories Comment from : @Tenacious21 |
I hate prince Charles so it's a no for me Like the leaf side though Comment from : @AmericanProspector1776 |

I like the Maples They also have 15 and 2 ounce versions as well which make them even better Comment from : @preparedsurvivalist2245 |

Silver is cool Comment from : @JessicaLeGrand-c6f |
