bGold American Eagles or Gold Canadian Maples/b Which do you prefer? 🥇 and why? 🤔 Comment from : @mykiedydss2 |

Started stacking silver November 2020, and after stacking a reasonable base stack and a trading stack, thinking about picking up some gold Deciding between the Gold Eagle and Maple, but leaning towards the Maple since I like the design more, premiums are lower, and it is purer gold Also debating on the size of I want to start with 1 ounce, 1/2, or 1/4 Comment from : @pzshi |

LOLOL "America, the greatest country on the planet" is the reason most people collect gold bullion - because they are printing a toxic amount of US dollars Comment from : @uncleubi |
Hahahahaha, greatest country on the planet he says That title, good sir, goes to our Noble Canada! Comment from : @intellegence63smart |

Just secured my first 1/4 maple Very excited to get it next week I like the look and fineness and color more in the gold maple than eagle 👍 Same plan as u 1/4s and 1/10s, along w my silver purchases Comment from : @cooldaddyfunk |

If its 24k, I will stack it, if its less than that don't bother me Comment from : @GNULinux-kapache |

Pure gold for me Comment from : @anthonygonzales685 |

from jm bullions site"The 1 oz American Gold Eagle is the largest gold coin produced by the US Mint, and carries a face value in the United States of $50 USD The coin is 22 karat gold, meaning it is composed of 9167 gold The remaining amount of the coin is composed of copper (533) and silver (3) Although the coin is 22 karat gold, it still contains 1 troy oz of pure gold content This is due to the fact that the coin itself weighs 10909 troy ounces total, resulting in 1 troy ounce of pure gold" Comment from : @douglasharrington9520 |
It’s by weight So a 1/10th oz Eagle and Leaf have exactly 1/10th gold It’s why the Eagle is a touch bigger and heavierbrbrGo to sell it, you’re getting spot based on 1/10th oz Comment from : @mrrothstein461 |
I thought you had discussed before Comment from : @makchiching |
I don’t see how purity matters, there’s a reason why the eagles were alloyed the way they are, so you can handle them without damage, can’t say the same thing about maples or any 49+ coin, they’re too fragile, they must be in capsules all the time There’s a lot of damaged maples out there going for melt so you gotta take that into consideration, I think it’s great the US Mint gives us the choice, but seriously there are 0 industrial uses for 49+ gold Comment from : @esurfrider7687 |
The American gold eagle contains 1oz of 24 kt gold plus a little copper and silver!!! Comment from : @stephenpack2202 |
Gold eagle simply has the better design (in my opinion), but the maple leaf isn't bad at all, the back looks really nice Comment from : @Lexicon-ff6or |

Gold Eagles "The King Has Spoken" (looking at a 2016 now) Comment from : @kingpenn8967 |

Another great way to buy gold at a lower premium is to get pre 33 gold When they're on sale too that's a plus I just get the cleaned ones I used to try to get a 1 oz gold coin from every notable country, but it was getting too expensive Also APMEX has a deal in which you can save on the premium on gold if you let them choose the mint for you Comment from : @VictoryPedalCab |
Stack primarily silver 1 oz coins and roundsthe gold in my stack is almost all 1/10 oz The premium isnt that high as long as you are willing to pick up whatever is on sale Also prefer the versatility of the 1/10 oz gold coins I do have some 1/2oz coins though also Comment from : @jay-rus4437 |
I like both but what I like about the maples is the security features Comment from : @KZ-wk4xb |
I prefer a US coin so it would have to be the Buffalo since it is pure gold with no junk metal thrown in like the Eagle Comment from : @archstone4622 |
I beleave the eagle has more weight it still has 1/10 gold and 2 copper or silver The Canadian maple is a beautiful coin a variety is a must in a gold stack I think, especially long term stacking Comment from : @valleydetecting464 |
Mykie, Kookaburras are now available in 1/10 oz for the 30th Anniversary coin, only 15000 minted Hurry up Bro before they are gone Up about 14 bucks since they started sellingThey are available on ebay with ebay bucks! Cheers Mate Comment from : @marley20ful |
I believe the Gold Eagle is fine, 910 pure while the Gold maple is 9999 That s 22 karat for the Eagle, to about 24 karat for the Maple As far as I understand I hunt for the maple learning this Comment from : @fiddle603 |

You can't go wrong with any government minted bullion in my view as long as its at a good price Its the base of my stack as it is easily recognisable and is trusted - like junk silver, but purer and more stackable weights Silver is silver though, so no problem with the odd round on the side and I love junk for its historic value In a crisis scenario having trusted, reasonable sizes of bullion is a must Personally I prefer the gold maple aesthetically, but if they were both the same price, I'd have to pick maple because of the purity As you say, if the gold eagle was purer - it would be something to consider In the UK we have the sovereign for fractional stacking, great as there is historic and numismatic value to it too Furthermore you can stack 1/4, 1/2 and full sovereign depending on your price range, I'd recommend you get one over the Britannia, much more aesthetically appealing personally with the George and the dragon image Comment from : @numismatistuk6745 |
The cheapest one I can get Unfortunately do not have any, but soon I hope Still working on my Constitutional base stack and the Libertad set Comment from : @bullioncat1575 |
