Wow Really rough picks Were these supposed to farm engagement? Well it worked brbrFirst up EOSM? Really??? Yes, great camera but so few native lenses, you would actually end up using and EF adapter which also costs money If you decided to upgrade you’d be going R mount and would need new glass to get the most out of the bodies… so basically no money saved in the long run to get a camera with no EVF? Also, a camera that bhas/b 10-bit video to an external recorder but Canon basically abandoned so there’s no clear answer on whether or not it can output 24fps (on the website it says it can but there’s no option in the camera) brbrThe E-M1 ii - really disliked the colour that camera gave for video and found the log profile remarkably inflexible Also, really frustrating interface with bizarre lack of ability to simply control shutter, aperture and iso from dials… and, honestly, pretty meh autofocus The idea that there are cheap lenses… But, yeah Still a better choice than the M6!!! brbr(Great full frame choices - but also everyone should just get an A7iv with a 28mm f18 Unbelievably good combo) Comment from : @cmck1777 |
‘Get a mirrorless, there will be new lenses’brbrbrecommends EOSM/b Comment from : @cmck1777 |
Yikes guys, the prices are still too high Comment from : @mainenorthwoodshunter3265 |

For me, having 10 Nikon AF lenses (most AF-S), what used body would you recommend?br(I'm looking at beat-up D850's for $1000 -- and I'm not happy with how those cameras have been treated by their owners) This will not be my primary system -- I have an OM-1, and some earlier versions, plus most of the glass I'll need (I also have 14 Minolta lenses, and understand there is a compatibility issue with almost all of mine -- perhaps precluding the A99ii?)brSuggestions? (Note My OM-1 will do all the video I need) Application: Weddings & Portraits Comment from : @tkarlmann |

The used prices I've found on the Panasonic S1 seem pretty close to some current cameras so I don't see the great value there The real value is in Nikon DSLR's though, especially for stills Comment from : @timothyduvernet2711 |
I think pics from todays photografer is bad Comment from : @drivethrou |
no matter which used digital camera we go for, even if it's in perfect working condition -- bod-wise that is mostly -- we just have to make sure its image sensor is still working right and it's not burnt, especially in the middle, which is what happens to digital ICML / video cameras that are aimed at capturing sunrise / sunset shots a lot, still or video same with digital video cameras that have taken shots with the midday sun included in the view for long minutes (SLR still film / movie cameras don't have that problem ) Comment from : @dadautube |
Hey Chris, I cannot believe it has a digital photography spokesperson, you can't hang a picture straight Comment from : @williamstatt8651 |

A year ago I bought used Panasonic Lumix GH5 with 5 batteries and V-log preinstalled I use it for landscape photography when cycling in the mountains and making some YT videos It is already 5 years old but it still amazes me how capable it is Comment from : @szymonpogodzinach2495 |
I understand that you want to go with mirrorless and i see point but if you'd just search D850 and it's current prices in used market and just look back at all your pics, you'd see my point as well Defense rests your honor Comment from : @rahullele2737 |
I just picked up a used Leica M Typ 246 for a bit under 3300 EUR Honestly a great deal for itbrbrBut not everyone's gonna want B&W only body Comment from : @JohannKwan |
I saved some money by going Leica Picked up a used T, their first camera with an L-mount, for 399€ and a used Sigma prime for 250€ The TL and especially TL 2 are even better IMHO the system was undervalued The original lenses for the system are less affordable, off course Comment from : @CM_7 |
Zee, Not Zed Comment from : @imbatman8967 |
Couldn't agree more with these choices The M6 II is the smallest and lightest for what it is It's an absolutely cracking camera in a tiny tiny body, but still manages to have excellent controls etc Absolutely overlooked compared to a lot of things out there The X-T3 is a fabulous camera that really did everything well The S1 is fantastic (but worth mentioning that Log is a paid upgrade, so worth getting one with it preinstalled) Not only does it have that great video spec, but it also got an excellent heavy duty body that puts most others to shame, has a better EVF than most as well The A7R III is a good buy and the Sony system is by far the most extensive Comment from : @mattdebyl8321 |
this feels like a fever dream you guys aren't bullying each other Comment from : @somethingsafoot |
you forgot about Panasonic S5 Comment from : @GameProgrammer79 |

Now the A7RIII will be more expensive Comment from : @richardgatineau |
The Olympus (branded) OM-D E-M5 Mk III is a great, compact, mirrorless Micro Four Thirds camera on closeout from OM System to make room for the OM-5 for only $90000 - $30000 off I recently got one and with a compact medium wide angle to short telephoto zoom it's become my super small go with me all the time camera Comment from : @gregfeeler6910 |
Everything above 12 mpx threshold is great And we hit it like 10 years ago Comment from : @bagzhansadvakassov1093 |
I just traded in my E-M 5ii for the E-M 1ii, I loved the 5ii, but wanted an upgrade that wasn't going to break the bank Looking forward to getting the E-M 1ii and using it out on my photo-hikes! Comment from : @patphilippone1795 |
S1 vs s1r?brA few hundred difference usedbrIs the auto focus worse on the larger s1 r sensor? Comment from : @Tigerex966 |

oh cool Comment from : @jnf1270 |
Got myself almost new a7r III in May for 1500euro, much cheaper than z7 (1900e) or D850 (2100e) That price, plus the huge range of lenses makes that there's no competition really Couldn't be happier! Comment from : @lesiakadam1977 |
M6 really? you're talking about mirorless future and against DSLR and recommend the half dead EF-M lens mount? that makes no sense at all the olympus is ok, but stillt not that future proof the s1 was the only good tip the last month of dpreview was quite disappointingbrbrbtw the d800 is worth mentioning Comment from : @mofi3641 |
Just bought a Fuji XH-1 brand new in box for $900 Comment from : @goldenhourkodak |
I understood why you stayed with mirrorless, but there are so many great deals on SLR bodies and lenses…anyone who is looking for the best bang for the noct will find it in the SLR space Comment from : @PinnyHead99 |
I have a used Olympus OMD OM-1 MK II (about $650 from Ebay a couple of years ago) Great camera for the price, and replaced a new Panasonic G85, which was also a great camera, but suffered from poor auto focus Panasonic had the older contrast detect auto focus which led to more blurred images versus the newer phase detect technology that Olympus has Comment from : @johnsmith-gs4qf |
I got my nearly new Sony A7iii for a little under $1000 and I think it is the best purchase ever Comment from : @MrMonta77 |
X2D 100C Comment from : @dmitrysh8946 |
I feel like the choice of the Canon M6 MkII defeats the point of sticking purely with mirrorless cameras Your reasoning was for compatibility and future-proofing, but the M6 uses a walled-off lens mount that requires an adapter to be compatible with EF lenses and can't be adapted to the newer R-mount At that point, why not just go with a used DSLR?brSeparately, I agree overall on the X-S10 pricing, though if you're lucky you can find the occasional really cheap one, which makes it worth it I've seen one for about $750 USD Comment from : @MishtahPoog |
I notice that some of your pictures are hung straight Beside that, good video Comment from : @zygmuntziokowski7877 |
My persoanl suggestion for used is buy from KEHbrI got one D3 years ago with budget rate, the camera works great but the camera skin(the leather part) suddenly does not attach to the body, so I request a fund and I got the full refund Comment from : @willqin4628 |
Just a note on the prices here Because it's KEH the prices will be higher than you will find on your local used market brThis is due to KEH having a huge markup on what they've paid for a camerabrCase in pointabout 5 years ago I brought a D800 with 50K shots to them they offered me $800 (while they were selling D800s for like 1900) brI turned them down, posted it online and sold it within days for $1600 Comment from : @AaronAubreyPhoto |
Interesting Canadians pronounce EOS as "ee-OSS" (short "o") the same way that Australians and English pronounce it I have no idea why Americans pronounce if "ee-OSE" Anyone? They seem to pronounce anything end in "os" as "ose" Comment from : @chrismalikoff9949 |
For the last 20 years, I have only bought used for cameras I will pick up lighting, radio controls, and on camera strobes new from china but from my 60d to my current 80ds have been used in good condition When I sell, I send the body to Canon for the $100 refurb and include the reciept with the sale Comment from : @artfrontgalleries1818 |
I still love my Lumix G9 Comment from : @brianmckeever5280 |
Amazing video!!!! I've been looking for this information for a while now Thank you so much!!! Comment from : @yewjew11 |
Guys!!! Sushhhh!!! Can you keep this quiet please, us canny photographers/videographers really don't want everyone knowing that buying something from yesterday could be worthwhile today and even usable tomorrow is a good idea and that great deals can be had Keep pushing everyone to splash their cash on new gear and give away those two or three year old obsolete cameras and lenses so that I can get them at a good price please I picked up a nearly new Nikon D810, 28/14, 50/f14 and 85/18 for a combined £2k a couple of months back the 28mm is selling for £2k new So please please please keep this secret quiet Comment from : @martinjn2920 |
EM1 ii is an amazing value I recently bought an A7iv which is amazing but the EM1 ii is still my favorite camera Comment from : @diybatterypower |
The Lumix S1/R is very good for what I use it for (documentary, weddings, landscape) The EVF is great, the cameras are very robust and the weather sealing is excellent (especially for stormy sea images and hours in heavy rain The AF has got better over time and it's reliable in low light The focus clutch on the S pro lenses is great for when you need to switch to manual focus (mainly in high or very low contrast situations) There is a lot of great features in the camera, which makes it easily customisable alongside the excellent ergonomics My only real gripes are battery life, weight, slow continuous shooting speed, poor continuous AF tracking at close distances and that Panasonic seem pretty slow in updating / expanding the system Comment from : @wylie_photo |
An iPhone 13 Max Pro… wait, a REAL camera you say? Any camera made in the last 5 years that fits your photography style and can be had for cheap, go for it! And while you’re at it, everyone is trashing Sony (camera of the year club), sell those off to the rest of us that own great glass for them best bang for your photography buck IMHO Comment from : @geogu3images |
I wanna get into mirrorless nikon I wana camera for takng pictures Not videobrI like fullframebrI like the used option of the z5 or z6 Comment from : @carloscelis6625 |

For first-time shooters (and even those with more experience) looking for something capable and flexible, I absolutely recommend a used Sony a6500 Has internal stabilization, uses the same e-mount system as the rest of the Sony lineup, has a lot of options and customization, etc, etc, etc The only issue is that it uses the older battery style which doesn't last as long, but that's not a big deal I use one as my back-up, macro, and travel camera, and I just got a dive case for it too so I can take it SCUBA diving and snorkelingbrbrYou can also get used regular Sony A7III for a good price Not everyone need the massive files the A7IIIr makes Comment from : @earthknight60 |
I think as used cameras the Sony Alpha 7 II is an amazing deal It’s a few years old but you can get it for 500-600 now Comment from : @timsonxx |
nikon d800e is the best used camera deal hands down Comment from : @Juventinos |
I think for sports, action, or low light… A canon 1dx can be found for 1k Files hold up to 99 of what is out there now and the body is a proven TANK Comment from : @ccoppola82 |
If someone is not already set up for large sensor 4K, I can heartily recommend the GH4 / GH5 cameras now that the GH6 has shipped, the market is flooded with tons of VERY capable 4K cameras that have proven themselves to be absolute workhorses Comment from : @IEBATechThoughts |
Great video guys! I recently ordered a Nikon D300 from KEH This is an upgrade for my D200, and it uses the same battery, charger and battery grip as a D700 Comment from : @williamstanke9210 |
When the Olympus em1iii had been out for only a few months a local photographer decieded to sell his olympus gear and move to Fuji medium format He sold me the em1iii for 1100 dollars canadian (just over 800 US) and the 12-40 f28 for 400 dollars canadian (around 300 US)brI never expect to get that good of deal again It has been great fun getting to use this higher end gear Comment from : @mikelobdell2666 |
Thank goodness I gave up photography Comment from : @robertvarner9519 |
Nice video guys Seems like deja vu since I rented a Sony A7R iii the day before this video came out and am sold - lots of used options so will soon be switching! But did you let the cat out of the bag on that one 😲 Comment from : @pdmguru |
still rocking a D800e with my og Z6; part of me misses when I sold all my m43 gear when i downsized The em1 mark ii was bar none that camera I wasn't afraid to shoot in the jungles of Vietnam to the snowy mountainsides of the rockys Comment from : @hieuhughesle-au9884 |
I bought a D7000 just about a year ago and this thing is still kicking a lot! I love this thing, it's reliable and still quite quick for most things and it has a dual-SD slot This is SO useful and I got this thing for about 200€ Comment from : @Raja995mh33 |
Fujifilm X-H1 is a great deal with IBIS and brilliant ergonomics Comment from : @stuartblink |
Totally agree with Jordan on both E-M1-ii/iii and Lumix S1 I actually have the S1, bought it when it was new on backorder and still loving it! IQ both in still and video is phenomenal Comment from : @hakeem-ji |
