I have long been in the habit now since high school of writing notes and letters for appropriate occasions and it is very appreciated and noticed! What I personally do is use blank paper or cotton stationary paper to write the notes, fold it, and seal it with red wax and stamp it with my first initial That almost always garners a respectable response (:

I have an account with a well-known online card site So whenever I need to send a thank you card, I just logon and pick a good one, type my message and they do the rest Highly recommend that method Also, I like to inject some humor into it with things like "Thanks for the lovely gift It was such a surprise!!because your gifts are usually terrible Well done this time!" - my friends know my sense of humor so they get a kick out of those remarks

Thank you notes are a thing of the past, for better or for worse I've helped a lot of my friends, never received one, but I've never sent more than one or two either, and they were both accepted with a bit of confusion Nobody really expects them anymore Hope these come back though, might help with people becoming so distant

I got a job because of a thank you note After interviewing I sent one to each of the managers/bosses I had spoken to thanking them for taking the time to talk with me On my first day the boss told me that they went with me specifically because I was the only one that took the time to write a note (there were three of us that were well qualified and a good fit for the job)

I've only ever received one thank you note That included a scratchie (scratch lottery ticket) which was nice of them The postal deliverer dropped one of their packages in our yard I tracked them down and got it to them
