The issue for most people is injury risks If you are young and insured, ok I am not getting up on a scaffolding, that is over the top I wouldn't encourage people to try to do this It's not worth your life or living it in a wheelchair

That attic will have a future mold problem There is no roof decking behind the slate The insulation is installed above the vapor barrier Without decking on the roof and an improperly installed vapor barrier there will be plenty of air movement through the insulation whi h will reduce the R-value and will trap moisture Basic thermodynamics!
