You are dead on phones can work for photographing coins, however, focus and lighting are really problematic A stand makes it much easier to get that perfect shot! The stand I use is the CamStand Magic Stand camstandmyshopifycom/products/camstand-magic-stand

Very nice shots! My old-school iPhone is a bit too outdated to do this well, so I'll have to keep using the DSLR, even though it's much more time consuming I'd love to learn more about lighting setups that show off maximum luster and toning

I use a DLSR camera with Tamron 90mm macro lens, a copy stand, and a 5000K daylight LED bulb to take good pictures I also use photoshop to edit them Your inexpensive way to good for people who lack this equipment

You forgot to say about LIGHT - you are using here natural light The best light you can use But you can add some extra light - a lamp or something I wouldn't advise to take pictures outside - could be too bright (or not, if you are in Britain)

You know that I take a lot of pictures of my coins as I post on Instagram I usually take my pictures on the bathroom sink lol It's interesting how you implement a loupe with your phone
