Thinking about her message, I wonder if she's aware that in reworking Genesis she creates a god IN HER OWN IMAGE; one that is awkward, self-conscious and prone to error like herself? This is exactly the opposite of the God of the Torah who creates human beings IN HIS OWN IMAGE, and declares his creation to be good brThere's a well known theme in the Hebrew Bible when the people turn away from Yahweh in favor of creating gods more to their own preferences and liking In the desert they forge a calf out of bronze, and later they turn to Moloch, Baal, and other gods, some of which demanded the sacrifice of their own children It never ends well when they adopt gods made by their own hands I'm not sure if Liana Finck is cognizant of this or not ??

Straight up beautifully done As an Orthodox Jew, my perspective is that we all need to seek our unique relationship with God, and they the challenges we face are part of exploring and experiencing that relationship I've never considered this particular lens to view Torah, but I find it profoundly moving
