I do 50/30/20 rule 50 goes to bills, 30 goes to savings , 20 for fun spending every paycheckbr You can change the percentage to best fit your needs, like when living expenses went up for me I did 60 for bills, 20 savings, 10 fun spending brbrYou can also prioritize things differently, like if you live with parents and don't have to pay rent, you can put more into savings and make that your 50 Comment from : @awkwardotter13 |

As a young person I am very grateful to my parents to teaching me a similar way of budgeting from when i was younger I would get $10 when i was younger for doing my chores and i would have to split that between three options: long term savings (big future things like a car or an apartment for when im older), short term savings (larger things i need to save up for but more in the near future like a xbox or a pc) and my splurge money (money for me to go out with friends or just get something that i want to like dinner or a stuffed animal) The only rule was that i had to put something in each of those options each week Comment from : @FandomRoyalty |
to take it a step further you can do 50/30/20 :) meaning 50 for needs, 30 for wants and 20 savings, personally i like to split the 20 into 10 for tfsa and 10 for personal savings :D hope this helps someone!! <3 Comment from : @eggsberts |

Great! I implemented this rule and it looks like after the 80 to rent, trash, electric, water, groceries, car payment, car insurance, mandatory health insurance, and the 20 to my savings, I get to take that 20 out of my savings! And use it on my bills too! Aaand I'll just skimp on whatever bill I can Like groceries! I could live for the next year off of instant ramen and tap water!!! THANKS FOR THE TIP!
