One problem is that a 1 oz silver coin has "One Dollar" printed on it So to use it after the dollar falls to exchange for goods and services would be hard press to explain the coin value to the seller A sure sign of inflation is that a half dollar coin now sells for about $27 dollars This means a dollar of currency is worth 00185 cents thanks to government and banking methods

My local coin dealer guy put it this way stay as close to spot as you can, period unless you're collecting don't buy higher premium stuff unless you're getting one because you just want to have one He says to keep like 25 of your stack in small fractional stuff like pre 65 coinage, even tho the premium is higher it's easier to barter with, keep 25 in 1 and 5 oz bars and rounds, and the rest in larger bars so you can cut the impact of the premium you paid on the higher cost fractional stuff with the lower cost bigger stuff hope that made sense buy smart

question, since you can use coins as legal money for the value on the coin at a normal store, wouldn't increasing the face value increase the price of silver since the coin will always be at least that price so the silver would be more inclined to stay above that price

I did have 2 questions I was hoping could be answered (great video, by the way):br1 If I go online or to a local coin shop — would I expect them to be offering “real time” pricing meaning, for example today 5/11/23 silver futures are down 5 on the day and are trading at $2450/ounce Would I expect prices to be 5 lower in the shops and sites than they were yesterday? Taking premiums into account of course br2 If I buy some silver rounds from a local shop at, say, $3 above spot price, would I expect to be able to sell those back at the same price the next day? Like if the underlying spot price has not changed would I be able to sell back at a break even? Or are the shops willing to sell at 1 price but they will only rebuy at another (lower) price?brbrThanks

The denomination on the coins isn't just traditional it's the technicality that makes it a coin/currency and that's why at least here in the UK only our coins are protected against capital gains tax which essentially forces us into helping our economy
