Why was the ATM giving people money that hadn't cleared? The best you could do in the UK a few years ago is convince people you had a certain amount of money in your account after a depositing the cheque, when the money would show in your balance but that amount wouldn't be available until the cheque clearedbrEventually even the funds appearing in your balance wouldnt happen, until they genuinely cleared
