I wonder what Ptolemy's tetradrachm has to do with Jesus? This is a 200-year difference in years Comment from : @ГордонЭстнер |
I loved this video! Inspiring me back to when I was a little kid, I had an international book of currency, some confederate money too, Chinese coins, and a little gold piece Well, our house burnt down when I was about 16 Lost all of it But God is the real treasure I learned Glad we don’t have to rely on earthly wealth, just faith and trust in Jesus Never forget that This stuff can all be gone in a poof of smoke Stack on, but don’t trust your wealth to save you Only Jesus can do that Comment from : @motoross9237 |
Giving proper, well curated information is very important The coin shown is a Ptolemaic Tetradrachm, these were used exclusively in Egypt, they operated a closed monetary system, so coins couldnt leave the country, and this particular type, likely from Ptolemy IX, was struck HUNDREDS of years before the time of christ Not everything is worth a nice, clickbatey title Comment from : @ClassicalNumismatics |
Is King Richard still at the shop? Comment from : @cdub4693 |
There are 2 contradicting accounts of how Judas died in the bible One in which he hung himself, and another in which he fell headlong and his intestines were slashed and gushed out Contradictory accounts from the so-called word of god xD Comment from : @historyinobjects |
I like how Silver Dragons threw in a possibly mildly Gnostic interpretation of Judas just shooting the breeze at the store 😅 Comment from : @Nolamiamicitizen |
Ummm, the silver shekel of Tyre was not used in regular commerce It was the coin used for donation to the Temple in Jerusalem It was mandated that coin be used by the Romans (to mock the Jews) which as mentioned, was in violation of Jewish law as it portrayed a human and animal Thats why there were " money changers" as Jews on pilgrimage would have to exchange their provincial coins for silver Roman shekels Comment from : @Kornheiser10 |
I like videos on ancient coins, but I do have a few concerns The first coin doesn’t appear to have the standard Melkart face seen on Tyrian shekels It looks more like a Ptolemaic or Seleucid kingdom coin brbrAlso, Phillip III was actually Alexander the Great’s brother Their father was Phillip II and he used Zeus (not Heracles) on his coinage Comment from : @jarrensection9042 |
Value destroyed by jewelry Comment from : @sirlancealittles |
I’m 100 sure That the big coin he mentioned as the “ shekel of Tyre” is Not a “shekel of tyre” if the coin came back from submission of a 3rd party grading company, Harry’s coin shop is in for a big disappointment Comment from : @ronnyvillanueva9404 |
Did you say it was silver or not? Do they make silver shekels today , stackable rounds? Comment from : @ufoarchitect |
Amen Comment from : @janatselvakumari1589 |
This video is not up to your usual standards In fact, it's a fail You do not know what you're talking about, because no one knows with specificity about things that took place this long ago Just sayin' Comment from : @bhoward9378 |
Richard's Judas joke at the end I lolled "Well I better be careful if you like that one so much" holy $#!t that was funny Comment from : @jasonburch1933 |
Alexander's father was Philip II, not Philip III brbrGreat video, I always thought Judas was paid in Roman Denarii, i had no idea about Tyrian sheckles Comment from : @ianweir3608 |
Can we get a follow-up video when they get them back from pcgs to see what they graded at? Comment from : @robertduffy5805 |

Those are beautiful coins Although widows mite is not a very expensive coin, all those are very good examples that I could see going for 50-200$ They’re usually 10-20$ for an unrecognizable piece of bronze the shekel is also my favorite and I would send them in for grading That coin can easily go for more than a thousand A thousand is common but they can go for a few more Comment from : @jayc8180 |
You know what i thought, was a slap in the face I saw that one of the online bullion dealers was selling a silver Nativity set i think it was SD Bullion but it wasnt made by them just sold by them i have nothing against them It weighed 30z it kind of rubbed me the wrong way not gonna lie Its on there right now if u wanna check jt out kinda cool but id rather get the Bull and Bear set instead i think the fact that the Nativity set is 30z is kinda rude Bahahahaha Comment from : @ToxiicZombee |

I’m not so sure you are correct At that time 30 pieces of Silver was what is in the Bible Now prior to that Jesus was tried to be tricked with a coin that had Caesars face on it Bible verse states Jesus saying who’s face is on that coin, Caesars was the reply, than give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is Gods Bullion and Coins Bullion representing the pieces Dudes, if go go to church services and bible studies you’ll get your correct answers Comment from : @robertgill448 |
Interesting video! While stationed in Pakistan I purchased an old coin from a street vendor and had it researched when I came back to the states Turned out to have been struck about the time of Christ, by a Sythic King named Soter Megas Thanks to this video, I plan now to have it set in a silver necklace and give it to my granddaughter! Thanks!! Comment from : @CdA_Native |
Absolutely amazing history in the coins Comment from : @dwightwindrum7886 |
I liked them all Very cool video Thank you ! Comment from : @harpazoskys5133 |
Jesus followers are so fascinating Clearly they have framed these coins to wear as necklaces just like the crucifix, both symbols of his death Had he died by hanging, would they wear a noose? Pretending to drink his blood and eat his flesh Such a bizarre death cult (I love ancient coins though!) Comment from : @NoOneKnows911-e3s |

In actuality the widow was not giving her last coins to Jesus but the pharisaic false Jewish system of the day and Jesus was actually condemning and promising to destroy such a system that would take all she had!! Comment from : @jaywest2806 |
A cautionary spiritual lesson for stackers in this presentation: Who or what would you betray for 30 talents of silver? Ancient coins are amazing You can buy some late Roman era (Christian era) coins for not much money I have just a few, and while they aren't in great condition at those prices, they're recognizable as coins Their historical value is immeasurable for me Comment from : @kayeninetwo3585 |
That shekel don’t look right The reverse is too bare and missing the faces-like symbol that’s normally to the left of it Comment from : @wally7449 |
According to the gospel of Judas, Jesus had to talk him into turning him in brThere was no betrayal brThat sounds more likely Comment from : @benjaminknotts745 |
