If you ask me, there is TONS of original, creative Mario stuff out there Galaxy, sunshine, now odyssey Most of the 3d games bring something new to the table The point with the NSMB series is its supposed to be a throwback to the originals It's supposed to take that classic 2d platformer route I don't know how people don't see that And for someone like me, I have a hard time with the 3d games I love the 2d games They're bright, colorful, and a hell of a lot of fun to play Only die hard mario fans who have played all the games have a problem with this But a mario game is a mario game and certain things are always reused Plus what do you expect from a franchise that has been dishing out good games for the last 40 years They may seem lazy or uninspired to you, but at least you can always expect a certain level of quality and good level design Sometimes all that is important for a game is the fun factor It doesn't always have to be new and fresh More of the same isn't always a bad thing

Good review, I love Super Mario Land 2 Just could have dealt with less saltiness towards New Super Mario Bros 2 Makes it pretty awkward to watch this video nowadays, since NSMB2 is not a hot topic at all And the New Super Mario series still pumps out high quality titles Even if I wish they would change the level themes more from time to time

The main reason behind any mario game feeling stale is quite simply Miyamoto He's one of the most overrated developers of our time, and while he did earn it in the past, lately he's only proving that he's out of touch with reality and needs to retire He apparently had little to no involvement in Super Mario 3D World, hence why it was much better than we expected

I think the NSMB series is fun, but it has more copy pasting than Pokemon and Mario sports games combined the after mentioned series have an amount of copying that just right, it feels familiar, but every game still is distinctively different If you showed me a NSMB game and told me to guess which one it is, the only giveaway would be the resolution and exclusive power ups

And my favorite Mario RPG is a tie between every single M&L game ever made They are all just so good and so fun to play and they are all hilarious but also mix in dark serious moments that makes them very good in a plot perspective but if I had to choose one it would probably be Dream Team The games just got better and more in depth in each installment but Super Star Saga already had enough depth to begin with which makes me go back and play the previous games as well
